Chapter 19 He Is Mine!
Chapter 19: He Is Mine!
Along the way, Lan held Bai Li’s hand, just as she had with Bai Li years ago. She casually slew monsters on the side while reassuring Bai Li not to be afraid.
“It’s okay, just follow sister.” Lan’s smile was a bit stiff; she tried to appear as natural as possible.
After spending a long time with Bai Li, Lan had gradually become as cold-faced as him.
Bai Li looked appreciatively at Lan’s figure. She had mastered the sword technique he taught her, and every strike was coated in blood. Seeing the splashing blood, he unconsciously licked his tongue.
“No, no, no, don’t give myself away. Need to move quickly. Vivian might come after us.” He tugged at Lan’s sleeve.
“Sister Lan, I’m scared. Let’s go back quickly.”
Lan didn’t respond, just continued slaughtering the nearby monsters. Only when the monsters were completely eradicated did she turn around.
“It’s alright, little brother, don’t be afraid. Sister is just clearing away the annoying things. Let’s get back quickly.”
Thinking of this, back in the military camp, there had been soldiers who had harassed her.
“Little sister, don’t run, let us brothers have a look…”
Back then, it was he who had stepped in and froze those scumbags into ice sculptures, leaving nothing behind.
In the distance, the military flag on the fortress was faintly visible, the Empire’s eagle emblem particularly eye-catching. The flickering lights, everything felt so familiar.
“You can really run, huh? Seems you need more discipline?” A familiar voice sounded, and suddenly the entire sky darkened.
Vivian sat on that dark red scythe, hovering in the air looking down at them, the arrogance on her face impossible to hide.
Lan gripped her sword tightly, staring at Vivian. This level of opponent was beyond her ability to handle. Beads of sweat had started to appear on her forehead.
“Hand over this child to me, and we’ll pretend we never met.”
Lan sneered. The murderer of that person, Vivian, stood right in front of her. How could she be willing to compromise?
“First, you return him to me.”
But it was Therese who acted first, her whip tightly wrapping around Lan’s wrist.
“You bad person, give my prince brother back to me.”
Bai Li was stunned. He hadn’t expected Vivian to catch up so quickly, and with Therese too.
Lan sneered, feinting her body, leaving Therese’s whip to grasp at nothing but shattered ice crystals on the ground.
Gale and blizzard intertwined, with ice crystal snow particles striking Therese’s face, leaving several bloody marks. But she didn’t back down.
“Vampire?”
Lan expanded her Eternal Frost Domain, Therese bound by the cold. Just as Lan raised her hand, Vivian suddenly appeared and caught this biting strike.
Though just a small white-haired figure, Lan could feel that Vivian’s strength far surpassed her own.
“I told you, he is mine.” Vivian choked Lan’s neck, keeping her suspended in mid-air. “You don’t have the power to protect him. Look at your situation now.”
Suddenly, countless nightmares came, and Lan seemed to return to that tragic past.
Vivian casually threw her, and Lan fell from mid-air into the river.
“Therese, are you okay?” she asked with concern. “The bad child who lured away the prince has been defeated by sister, okay?”
She patted off the ice shards, indicating she was fine.
“Now it’s your turn. Will you come with me willingly, or should I help you? Choose one.”
This was it, caught right after escaping. With no weapons and not even being a match for Therese in single combat.
After consideration, he finally decided to fire this distress flare. Imperial soldiers would recognize it as his distress signal; he couldn’t worry about the trouble that would follow.
“Prince brother, are you looking for those bad guys? Therese won’t allow it.”
He could only watch as Therese controlled air pressure, preventing his specially made distress flare from rising. The scythe was pressed firmly against his neck, already drawing a shallow line of blood.
“Alright, alright, I surrender. But please, don’t hurt her.” Bai Li raised his hands, almost begging.
“We’ll settle accounts when we get back. Becoming my personal property and you still want to run?” She grabbed Bai Li’s hand; Therese had already prepared the teleportation array. In an instant, they were back at the castle of Rose Hall.
…
“Tell me, how should I punish you?” Still smiling, but Bai Li could detect no goodwill.
Now his entire body was chained to a cross, this was the basement, no one could save him, not even Therese could find this place.
“Was it so good there? Didn’t expect you to be the one smuggling things?” Vivian said with a cold smile. She knew physical damage wouldn’t be of much use to him. Just as she was at a loss, she caught a glimpse of the daylight bracelet on her hand and had an idea.
“No choice, I’ll leave you here to bask for a while. I’ll come see you when I’m in a better mood.” Vivian said, removing the daylight bracelet from his hand.
Daylight’s devastation on vampires was an all-encompassing, painful torture. She just wanted to see Bai Li pleading in pain before her.
After all, the pleasure of being the superior was irreplaceable.
…
The next morning, Lan slowly opened her eyes, soaked in the cold river water. She rubbed the wound on her forehead; blood and pain didn’t lie.
“You can protect nothing, only fit to live in his shadow…”
Every word of Vivian’s cut into her heart like a sword. The look in that child’s eyes yesterday, somehow felt familiar. And crucially, his body was ice cold too.
It seemed he wasn’t overly worried or afraid, but rather relieved about something.
She picked up her fallen sword, gently wiping away the water marks, her expressionless face reflected in the blade.
Lan’s finger lightly traced the edge. This famous sword, “Time Rain,” was a gift from Bai Li.
Meanwhile, at the dome of Rose Hall castle, a certain pitiful fellow was bound by chains.
For some reason, today’s sun seemed particularly strong.
Vivian, wearing sunglasses, leisurely reclined in a chair, watching with interest as someone was clearly in pain but making no sound.
“Hey, if it hurts, just cry out. I always take good care of my things.”
Smoke rose from Bai Li’s body, the scorching sunlight tormenting every part of him, yet he endured without a sound.
Whether intentional or not, Vivian kept spilling fresh blood from her cup onto him. He tried to lick some to moisten his parched lips, but it quickly evaporated.
In his haze, he again saw that smug little demon’s expression…
“Beg me, and I’ll consider releasing you for a while. But secretly running away is a major offense.”
“Sss, then just kill me. Anyway, sss, I won’t…”
“Let’s hope so. I’m going to put on a face mask first.”
…
“No, you…” Bai Li helplessly shook his hand.
