Chapter 20 I Was Wrong and Won’t Dare Again
Chapter 20: I Was Wrong and Won’t Dare Again
“Vivian, what’s got you so angry, and what was that blue light yesterday?” Wensa looked at Vivian, puzzled.
“Nothing, probably just Klaymang’s flies.” She was applying a face mask. “Getting angry will age the skin.”
Wensa shrugged and left the room without asking more.
He was also busy, spinning like a top all day. Who could blame him when a certain arrogant white-haired person didn’t handle affairs?
As he was flipping through documents on the desk, a box Vivian had left caught his attention.
“White Moon?” Curious, but it was Vivian’s possession, and he couldn’t touch it carelessly.
Previously, when handling documents in her office, she had forgotten her cup, and Wensa had casually used it for watermelon juice. The result was that large scythe nearly killing him.
Though that puffed-up, tsundere look was pretty, Vivian could be heavy-handed. At that time—Wensa’s left hand had been cut off. Good thing limb regeneration was a basic vampire skill, though the pain was very real.
Outside, sunlight shone on the morning dew. Although this wasn’t good weather for vampires, for some reason, Therese always enjoyed sunbathing.
She clung to Vivian’s side, asking about Bai Li’s whereabouts, swaying back and forth.
“Alright, alright, Therese, don’t move around. I’ve already told you, the prince is injured and resting. Look, you’ve stepped on my dress.”
Therese withdrew her foot guiltily. “Then I… can’t see him?”
Vivian had explained earlier that the prince didn’t want to be disturbed. With no choice, Therese could only leave silently. She certainly hated that white-robed girl who had injured Bai Li so badly.
…
It was now around two in the afternoon, the sun’s intensity at its peak for the day.
“Sss… feels like… dying… so thirsty…”
Bai Li’s vision had become distorted, his skin beginning to crack, weakly trying to free himself from the heavy chains.
The familiar red dress and white hair appeared before him, with an iced drink in hand.
“Came over in the afternoon to enjoy the view. Iced watermelon juice is excellent for cooling down.” Vivian opened the lounger, with a cool breeze under the parasol.
“Want a glass?” She placed the watermelon juice aside.
Bai Li instinctively reached out, but just as he was about to touch it, the chain’s length ran out.
“Damn… just a bit more… sss…” To his surprise, with all his might, his hand marked with long wounds from the chain, he actually knocked over the glass.
The cool juice spilled on his hand, giving a moment of relief, but soon the burning sensation returned.
“Hot? If you beg me, I might consider releasing you temporarily.”
Bai Li’s lips dripped blood, his head weakly tilted to one side, his neat hair now disheveled. Seeing Vivian approach, he struggled to open his eyes to look at this smug person.
Feeling cool fingers lifting his chin, he raised his head to see Vivian’s elegant smile.
“Keep this up, and you’ll die.” She patted Bai Li’s face, pouting. Such a beautiful face being ravaged like this was truly inappropriate.
Bai Li always caught glimpses of Vivian’s leisurely demeanor. He knew it was all deliberately shown to him. This level of interrogation didn’t frighten him.
“Too bad, I already killed that woman.”
These words seemed to touch Bai Li’s bottom line. He struggled desperately, though in vain.
“Let her go… kill me if you want, but don’t involve others.”
The cold scythe pressed against his neck, the killing intent emanating from Vivian impossible to conceal.
“Don’t act like a righteous man now. Under the banner of fighting for the Empire, how many lives have you taken without reason?” Vivian’s voice trembled. “Now you have a weak spot, right? Fine, I’ll go kill her now, make you completely give up.”
As she spoke, she had already spread her wings, ready to return to the fortress. The fortress, having lost its defensive cannons, couldn’t withstand Vivian now.
Bai Li lowered his head, silent for a while. Before Vivian reached the edge of the dome, he finally said those words.
“Vivian, I beg you, don’t kill her. I was wrong. I won’t dare again.”
Her scythe slowly lowered, but she still had her back to the dejected Bai Li.
“I don’t think you’re sincere. If I agree, what if you go back on your word later?”
Bai Li now understood—Vivian was nakedly threatening him with Lan’s life. That day when she attacked Lan, she had probably already marked her. If Vivian wanted to kill her, she could do so anytime.
But what could he do?
“Fine, I agree. Whatever contractual means you have, bring them out.” As he said this, he could already foresee the days ahead.
Indeed, once you grasp someone’s weakness, handling them is effortless.
She put away her scythe, slowly undid the chains on Bai Li’s hands, supporting him as he nearly collapsed. She grabbed his wrist and put on the daylight bracelet.
“Sss, saved…”
“Come with me. As you said, I need to control you.” She took Bai Li’s hand, walking towards the sea of flowers at the center of Rose Hall.
A breeze swept over the flowers, filling the air with a heart-cleansing fragrance. Under the sunlight, it seemed like returning to a dreamlike fairy tale world.
Vivian opened the basement of an abandoned church, pulling Bai Li in with her.
In the middle of the basement, a scroll of dark red text floated. Vivian grabbed it and opened it.
“This is a vampire blood contract. Once you sign it, you’ll truly and completely belong to me.”
He had learned some vampire text before and could see this was essentially a deed of sale. Except for Vivian not harming Lan, the rest meant he had to obey her completely…
It seemed that if the bloodline hadn’t fully merged, to ensure blood purity, the contract would help the signer rapidly merge with the vampire bloodline.
This meant Bai Li would completely become a vampire, though this was the appearance he most despised.
“What’s wrong, any objections? Others want to sign, but I don’t give them the chance.”
With a dejected face, he bit his finger and pressed his handprint on the scroll.
A beam of light instantly enveloped him, and the next moment he lost consciousness.
“Still need to put a collar on him, otherwise who knows where he’ll run off to next.”
Blood fusion took some time, and the basement was stuffy. Vivian simply left, returning to the pavilion amidst the flower sea, appreciating this pure land.
“What a shame, why did Claude choose you?” Vivian idly played with her necklace, muttering to herself. “But it doesn’t matter, I’ll treat you well.”
