Chapter 4 Preparation for the Coronation Ceremony
Chapter 4: Preparation for the Coronation Ceremony
Baili instinctively wanted to freeze Vivian in front of him again, but unfortunately, these anti-magic handcuffs were specially made. He couldn’t move at all.
“Mmm… Don’t, ugh…”
A strong feeling of nausea filled Baili’s stomach. His whole being felt shattered, and the intense nausea nearly made him vomit on the spot.
Actually, as a vampire, he didn’t need to eat at all. Vivian euphemistically called it “helping you transition appropriately.”
After finally finishing—or rather being force-fed—these cakes, Vivian removed the anti-magic handcuffs. Now Baili was completely exhausted, the physical fatigue causing him to pass out on Vivian’s bed…
“What a naughty little brother, so kawaii…”
Vivian gushed like a fangirl. It was hard to imagine this was the same person who had nearly incinerated her shadow guard on the spot and then acted as if nothing had happened.
When Baili opened his eyes again, he turned to see Vivian sleeping soundly beside him.
This startled him, and he immediately rolled off the bed with a loud thump.
He rubbed his sore head. After sleeping, the large amount of cake that had been force-fed to him was completely digested, and he was feeling okay now.
Baili propped up an ice wall and timidly peered over it at the sleeping Vivian on the bed. Seeing that she continued sleeping peacefully, he finally relaxed.
Just this one ice wall had drained half his mana, and he couldn’t hide his aura. The temperature in the room suddenly dropped.
He was about to cancel the ice wall…
“Hello, what’s going on? Did you fall?”
Vivian had just been sleeping peacefully, but suddenly she was face to face with him.
He swung a frosty punch, but Vivian blocked it with just one finger. There was a “hissing” sound as the ice and netherfire collided, but the difference in power was too great…
He never dreamed he would sleep with his enemy, and judging by the quality of sleep, it seemed quite enjoyable.
“It looks like you’re not in good shape. Is this all you can do? What a small fry Knight Commander.” As she spoke, she crouched down and poked his cheeks repeatedly. “You’re much cuter when you’re small.”
Baili lay sprawled on the ground, completely depleted of mana, not moving at all.
“Don’t you know that we vampires need to drink blood to maintain life?”
Baili struggled to sit up. The ice wall had completely melted into a puddle of water. Compared to his previous strength, this was just a drop in the bucket.
When he battled Blood Clan Prince Conde in Saint Lund City, his Frost Domain had truly frozen the entire city. The extreme, terrifying cold was the Frost Moon Knight’s classic winning strategy. But now Saint Lund City had been occupied by the blood clan.
It seemed that place was still cold even now.
“I told you, I won’t become like you, cough, cough.”
He forced himself to stand up. The cold air around him had mostly dissipated. Just as he managed to catch his breath, Vivian’s next arrangement nearly shattered him again.
“The coronation ceremony for the new blood clan prince is already being prepared. It can be held the day after tomorrow.”
“What blood clan prince ceremony? What does that have to do with me?”
“Hmph, how is it not related to you? It’s prepared specifically for you.”
Baili: ?
“No, what’s happening now? What qualifications do I have to be a blood clan prince?”
Without letting Baili argue, Vivian simply picked him up. He flailed, trying to escape from Vivian’s “clutches,” but the outcome was inevitably futile.
In the dressing room, Vivian had already prepared the attire for the prince’s coronation.
“Tie, tailcoat, shirt, crown, and, oh right, the sword.”
Vivian recited the items like a menu, checking the clothes beside her. When Baili heard the word “sword,” his eyes lit up. Since being captured by Vivian, he hadn’t seen his Frost Moon again.
Baili shuffled over, trying to see clearly what Vivian had prepared. The sword on the table looked somewhat familiar?
“Strange, my Frost Moon doesn’t look like that?”
Vivian seemed to sense what Baili was thinking. She knocked on the wall and said seriously,
“Frost Moon is too dangerous, not something a child like you can handle. Oh right, you’re inheriting Prince Conde’s title.”
“What did you say? Let me inherit the title of someone I defeated? Are you insulting me?”
“Oh my, you’re my defeated opponent now, Sir Knight Commander. Should I take ‘Frost Moon’ as my new title as the blood clan queen? That would be too inconsistent, wouldn’t it?”
The sword on the table still retained some cold air. Back then, Baili had frozen it directly, solidifying the blood inside.
That sword had naturally been frozen too. Conde had barely escaped using netherfire to burn himself. Unfortunately, his sword was frozen, which was why he couldn’t block Baili’s final strike.
“It felt like casually breaking a brick at the time,” Baili recalled.
Who would have thought that the sword he had cut in half would now be his? Wasn’t this clearly humiliating the knight?
After integrating with the blood clan royal bloodline, Baili now truly wanted to die but couldn’t. Though he could make various firearms and enchanted bullets, how could he find the materials for these things among the blood clan?
Under Vivian’s supervision, Baili reluctantly put on the formal attire. Previously, he had been quite casual, wearing whatever was available and simply summoning armor in battle.
“Hey, do you even know how to dress? You’ve buttoned the shirt wrong.”
…
Vivian frowned. She hadn’t expected Baili to truly be so incapable, lacking even this basic life skill. Had fighting battles made him stupid?
Wearing a pink off-shoulder Lolita dress, she was now angrily scolding Baili.
“Wait, you haven’t tied the strap on this side of the tailcoat.”
Baili hurriedly fumbled around, but accidentally stepped on the hem of his clothes and fell heavily to the ground, face first.
“Ouch, that hurts. Strange, why am I bleeding?” Baili looked at the blood on his hands, pouting, staring blankly at himself in the mirror. The spot on his forehead where he had bumped was broken and bleeding continuously.
He had been a vampire for too long without drinking blood, and his body had become very weak. Additionally, he hadn’t fully adapted yet, so the blood clan’s powerful self-healing ability couldn’t work.
His vision became increasingly blurry. In his sight, everything else began to fade away, except for Vivian arranging clothes on the side, who seemed to be looking more and more attractive.
The most primitive desire for blood is the survival instinct of the blood clan.
“So hungry…”
Baili had just taken a step when his reason told him he absolutely must not fall into becoming what he hated. But his body’s honesty was uncontrollable. His left hand firmly pressed down his right, using all his strength to control himself from taking another step.
However, Vivian had anticipated this. She deliberately dressed this way, exposing large areas of skin to stimulate Baili’s instinctual nerves.
Just as she expected, Baili trembled as he walked toward her, his eyes filled with desire for blood.
He reached out and hooked his arm around Vivian’s shoulder.
“Mmm, that’s right. Sister won’t let you be like this. Go ahead and drink.”
Vivian closed her eyes, starting to try to feel this sense of being relied upon. There wasn’t the expected coldness. She felt something was wrong and opened her eyes to look.
Baili had actually activated the Burning Angel’s holy fire again to scorch his own soul, forcibly punishing his desire. At this point, he was barely hanging on, but still stood straight, looking directly into Vivian’s eyes.
The Holy Temple Knights were all contractors of the Burning Angel. The double-edged sword of the Burning Angel’s power in their bodies was always the blood clan’s most feared trump card.
Both physically and mentally.
“I told you, I will never become like you.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Baili once again lost consciousness and fainted. After all, what did the blood clan’s coronation ceremony have to do with him? Let Vivian worry about it; why should he care?
This time Baili fainted with peace of mind. It was indeed Vivian’s turn to worry.
“It seems this child doesn’t listen well. I’ll have to train him properly in the future.”
