Chapter 7 I’m Afraid of Heat
Chapter 7: I’m Afraid of Heat
Baizhi slept without inhibition, in an extremely abstract sleeping posture, comfortably all night long.
Specifically, when he woke up, his blanket had already fallen off. Worse still, he hadn’t even changed out of his dirty white shirt and pants from yesterday’s outing.
But the habitually untidy Baizhi didn’t care. He was used to this, always having someone to look after his daily needs.
“Let’s see what’s to eat… I’m starving. Wait, don’t vampires not need food? Isn’t blood enough?”
Yet the hunger was real, and Baizhi needed to address this problem. At least he still retained this human characteristic. He began rummaging through drawers and cabinets.
After searching for a while, he only found two old loaves of bread in the outermost box. He tapped them with his finger, producing a “bang, bang” sound.
“How hard have these become? Freeze them any more and they could be used as clubs.”
Normally, he would eat anything non-poisonous, but today these loaves were truly inedible.
He couldn’t very well freeze the bread into ice blocks, shatter them, and eat the ice shards, could he?
“Good morning, useless knight commander. Hehe, can’t bake bread? What a small fry.”
“Ahem, what do you want, you undead white-hair?”
Vivian laughed awkwardly, lamenting his poor manners. But soon she discovered her previously tidy bed was now in complete disarray, along with an unpleasant smell.
Always fastidious, she was particularly sensitive to unwashed sweat, especially since Baizhi had slept there in that state.
Indeed, since arriving at the Rose Sanctuary, Baizhi hadn’t properly bathed—except for that brief moment just after his transformation.
Vivian looked disgustedly at this carefree individual. At that moment, Baizhi was still gnawing on the rock-hard bread, showing no fear about what might happen next.
“You don’t bathe? And you slept in my bed without changing clothes? If it were anyone else…”
Vivian’s eyes flashed with a cold light, and Baizhi keenly detected a momentary killing intent. Without Vivian continuing, he understood.
“I don’t mind as long as it’s usable. No need to be so formal when away from home.”
Vivian was now at a loss for words to describe him. Something as simple as daily hygiene had become “excessive formality” to Baizhi.
“I really don’t know how you lived before. No, no, no, it seems I really need to help you, useless knight commander.”
Baizhi had finally finished gnawing the two loaves of bread. As for whatever Vivian had been rambling about, he couldn’t care less, just staring vacantly out the window.
“Can’t you react a little? Making such a mess of my room and leaving the chaos for me to clean up?”
…Baizhi remained deaf to her words.
Vivian regained her usual smile. “Then I’ll clean you up first.”
Hearing the words “clean up,” Baizhi seemed electrified and raised an ice wall, timidly hiding behind it. It appeared she had touched his trigger point.
But Vivian wasn’t deterred, immediately shattering the ice wall and making direct eye contact with Baizhi’s terrified eyes.
“Let’s see where you can run.”
Thus began a chase of hiding and pursuing. Baizhi now stood no chance of escape. He struggled to turn and run…
“Strange, I’m at the door, why can’t I move?”
Looking down, he saw his feet were off the ground. What was happening?
“Little fish knight commander, I told you you couldn’t escape.”
Baizhi turned around to find Vivian holding him up with one hand, smirking at him.
“Don’t worry, I’m just making you cleaner. Don’t want to end up unmarriageable, do you?”
“Wait, me? Get married? Have you lost your mind?”
Vivian ignored Baizhi’s grumbling, dragging him all the way to the bathroom she had prepared.
Previously, Baizhi had been quite particular about water temperature when bathing. He was extremely afraid of heat—even slightly hot things made him uncomfortable.
Steam billowed from the bathtub, the air warm and humid. Nearby lay bathing necessities like shower gel, towels, and other cleaning tools.
“Come try it, it’s really comfortable. Hard to imagine you’re afraid of bathing. Could it be…”
Vivian’s gaze started moving strangely downward, her face slightly reddening, seemingly thinking of some peculiar knowledge.
Baizhi stood at the bathroom’s edge, not daring to enter.
“Will you do it yourself or shall I help? Many would kill for this opportunity. Consider yourself lucky.”
He still stood frozen, unsure what to do. Seeing no reaction, Vivian stepped forward and pulled the curtain closed.
“No, no, no, be gentle… I’m afraid of heat.”
“You’re lying. I’ve never heard anyone use fear of heat as an excuse to avoid bathing.”
After Vivian’s maneuvers, the next moment Baizhi found himself directly in the bathtub. The little white-haired girl before him wore a towel on her head, looking at him with mischievous intent.
Both soaking in the bath, they tacitly exposed only their heads. Baizhi’s face was red, unable to meet Vivian’s gaze. He was already feeling hot all over and quite uncomfortable, but he didn’t dare move.
After all, being so exposed to each other was quite inappropriate…
Thus, they remained silent for a while. Vivian moved over, took some shampoo from the side, applied it to her hair, and began washing it herself.
“Doesn’t she have any inhibitions?”
But soon Baizhi understood why. He glimpsed Vivian’s figure and nearly laughed out loud.
“Who dropped a steel plate with two screws here?”
…
She continued washing, and seeing her steel-plate-like chest, Baizhi’s psychological burden instantly decreased to almost zero.
Vivian was arranging her hair, shaking off water droplets. She tied up her hair and noticed Baizhi staring at her.
“Look, look, what are you looking at? Hmph.” Vivian complained, “Can’t help it. If my body had developed before reaching this state, I guarantee you’d get a nosebleed.”
Baizhi’s speechlessness reached its peak. He knew Vivian was dark-hearted and embarrassing, but didn’t expect to this degree.
“If I don’t look, you’re unhappy. If I look, you talk nonsense. I really don’t know what to say to you.”
“Hey, why is your whole body turning red, especially your face?”
Vivian swam over, her wet hands steaming, shamelessly pinching Baizhi’s face.
Such close contact with a strange, hostile female left Baizhi’s mind in chaos, his eyes dizzy.
He wanted to say, “You undead, don’t touch me with your dirty hands.”
But what came out was, “Stop pinching, it hurts.”
Already heat-sensitive, he couldn’t take much more. No one had ever pinched his face like this from childhood to adulthood. His body emitted steam faster, seeming to overload.
“Why aren’t you scrubbing? You’re so dirty all over.”
His mind was in complete disarray, both physically and psychologically embarrassed, too chaotic to speak.
Seeing him in a dazed state from the hot bath, Vivian’s smile began to change.
She took a towel and started scrubbing Baizhi’s body. Being dazed, how could he resist?
She felt Baizhi’s body—as expected, completely like a child’s. There had been photos of young Baizhi, and indeed there was no difference.
As she continued touching, her hand unconsciously wandered…
“It seems about right; the development is similar too.”
But Vivian couldn’t understand why soaking in a bath would daze him. Was his claim about fearing heat true?
If so, she dared not imagine the side effects he suffered from the Seraphic Holy Fire.
“The useless knight transformation plan must begin. He can’t even take care of his daily needs.” Vivian shrugged, looking at the dazed Baizhi in the bath.
Notably, the nightclothes were also put on by Vivian.
