Chapter 50
Chapter 50: Senior Jiang Wan, Who Excels at Teasing People
Lin Shen clicked his tongue softly, feeling like his business plan had been written for nothing.
But that was fine—once the market expanded, he’d definitely need it for overall planning.
While Lin Shen was still pondering the uses of [Industry Analysis], Sun Wenhao and Jiang Wan’s photo shoot was nearing its end.
“Alright, Yanwei.”
Sun Wenhao thoughtfully handed Jiang Wan a tissue to wipe the sweat from her forehead and face.
“How do these shots look?”
“They’re great. Thanks for all your hard work, Ahao.”
Jiang Wan was very satisfied with the photos Sun Wenhao had taken, since they’d been collaborating for a long time.
However…
“I still think Lin Shen’s shot has more feeling to it.”
Jiang Wan looked toward Lin Shen, who was lying on the grass nearby.
“Lin Shen, send me that photo you took later. I’ll ask the client about it, and if they’re interested, I’ll share some of the advertising fee with you.”
“No need.”
Lin Shen stood up, brushing the dirt off his pants with a light laugh.
“Your beauty has already paid me enough.”
“Pfft—!”
Jiang Wan couldn’t help but laugh, the corners of her mouth curving up teasingly.
“Little brother Lin Shen, where did you learn to say things like that? I had no idea you had this side to you back in college. Have you been using sweet talk to fool lots of girls?”
“If I had been fooling anyone, I wouldn’t have broken up.”
“I’m sorry.”
Jiang Wan hadn’t meant to touch on Lin Shen’s painful memories. After showing her regret, she rubbed her stomach and smiled gently.
“Thanks for coming with me to take photos today. Let me treat you both to lunch—I heard the farmhouse restaurant here is quite good.”
“Let me pay.”
Lin Shen offered proactively.
“Brother Sun taught me a lot about photography. I’d like to thank him.”
“I didn’t really teach you much.”
Sun Wenhao felt a bit ashamed.
After all, he’d only recommended a few cameras. Lin Shen had learned all the photography techniques through self-study and practice.
That kind of talent would make many people feel inferior.
If he got his hands on a proper camera, wouldn’t he be able to go professional immediately?
Was he about to lose his job?
Sun Wenhao panicked, feeling like Lin Shen would eventually replace him.
If his account lost Jiang Wan—the key factor for gaining followers—that would be one thing. After all, photographers never lacked beautiful model girls.
But what hurt Sun Wenhao most was that after spending nearly half a year with Jiang Wan without anything happening between them, he was suddenly being cut off by Lin Shen who appeared out of nowhere?
Sigh—!
Sun Wenhao let out a long sigh, falling into prolonged silence as they left the suburban park.
Lin Shen and Jiang Wan, on the other hand, were chatting happily.
Since visitors to Changxing Island usually either drove themselves or took tour buses, bicycles had become the most popular form of public transportation on the island.
Lin Shen rented three bikes and used navigation to lead Jiang Wan and Sun Wenhao to a local restaurant.
Tian Family Kitchen.
The restaurant’s simple decor mixed with modern touches, every detail filled with the unique atmosphere of rural life.
Lin Shen seemed to think of something and casually took a photo of the storefront.
Unfortunately, when he opened the [LowMoral] app, the task hadn’t been completed.
Maybe this wasn’t the most atmospheric scene after all?
Lin Shen felt a bit disappointed.
“Hello sir, how many people?”
“Three. I have a reservation.”
Under Lin Shen’s lead, the three of them entered a private room and sat down to order.
Braised catfish, white-cut chicken, wine-fragrant shepherd’s purse, sauced pork bones… these were all popular dishes at Tian Family Kitchen.
Just as Lin Shen was about to order a fifth dish, Jiang Wan quietly tugged at his sleeve, leaning close to whisper behind her hand.
“There’s no need to order so much. I don’t eat very much—four dishes is enough.”
“Then I’ll just add a soup.”
Lin Shen smiled, then closed the menu and handed it to the server. His composed and confident manner made Jiang Wan take a few extra glances, then ask curiously.
“Can I ask you something?”
“What?”
“I remember you quit your job, right? Did you find something more lucrative?”
“Something like that.”
Lin Shen had known that once he got the cracked app, the source of his money would definitely attract attention.
After all, he wasn’t working and came from a working-class family, so his casual spending would naturally raise suspicions.
Therefore, Lin Shen had already prepared his explanation.
“I made some money from investments recently.”
“Is that so.”
Jiang Wan believed Lin Shen’s words completely, smiling as she praised him.
“I always thought you were very smart back in college and would definitely achieve great things. Looks like my judgment was right.”
“You’re pretty amazing yourself.”
Lin Shen replied modestly.
“Senior Jiang Wan has always been someone I look up to.”
“That’s going a bit far.”
Jiang Wan gave Lin Shen a look, her charming gaze carrying a hint of playful reproach, particularly alluring.
“I didn’t see you contacting me after graduation.”
“I was in a relationship then. It wouldn’t have been appropriate to chat with other girls.”
“What about now?”
Jiang Wan’s beautiful eyes narrowed with a playful look, resting her chin on her hand with a mischievous smile.
“You contacted me right after your breakup—why is that?”
“Well…”
Lin Shen was momentarily speechless.
He’d resolved to become a playboy, yet here he was being teased by an older woman.
The gap in their skill levels was too wide.
Fortunately, the server brought their dishes at just the right moment.
“You must be hungry after working all morning. Eat while it’s hot.”
Lin Shen quickly changed the subject, using his chopsticks to pick up some fish and put it in his mouth. The fresh, delicious taste immediately spread across his tongue.
“Not bad.”
Lin Shen praised it, and Jiang Wan also tried some, then nodded.
“It really is good. Ahao, stop fiddling with your camera and come eat.”
“Okay.”
While Lin Shen and Jiang Wan had been chatting, Sun Wenhao had been pretending to be busy with his camera.
Actually, he’d been bored for a while, just not wanting to interrupt the ambiguous atmosphere between those two.
At this point, Sun Wenhao completely gave up on his lingering feelings for Jiang Wan.
It was obvious she was interested in Lin Shen. Why should he keep torturing himself?
Better to give up early and free himself.
After thinking it through, Sun Wenhao ate heartily, as if venting his resentment on the food.
“The food’s great. Thanks for treating us, Brother Lin!”
“Don’t mention it.”
The three had a pleasant lunch together. Afterward, they decided to find a coffee shop to sit and rest while planning their afternoon itinerary.
After all, the summer sun was too harsh, and even this island near the sea was still sweltering.
6 PM, approaching evening.
The three arrived at the Yangtze River embankment.
This was a famous spot from the movie “Cry Me a Sad River,” so it attracted quite a few tourists.
Jiang Wan in her hanfu stood out among them, drawing many gazes.
After all, Sun Wenhao with his camera looked very professional.
“Yanwei, dance a bit. I’ll record one of those popular TikTok videos for you.”
“Okay.”
Jiang Wan could dance too?
Lin Shen watched, somewhat mesmerized.
Dusk spread across the sky, the sunset cut into golden fragments by the slowly turning windmills in the distance.
At the end of the flat asphalt road, Jiang Wan’s sleeves fluttered as she danced gracefully, her figure elegant and her beauty stunning, like a living painting!
