Chapter 20: Even More Disgusting
Ji Yueling’s mind went completely blank.
One second, two seconds, three seconds—only then did she slowly hear her own scream of terror, and she felt wetness between her legs. She had been scared into incontinence.
But that “boom” wasn’t because she had pulled the trigger. It was because Gu Qing had deliberately used vocal mimicry to make that sound to frighten her, nothing more. The next instant, the revolver in her hands was snatched away by Gu Qing.
Gu Qing’s expression as he looked at her now was somewhat complex, no longer so contemptuous or playful, no longer like he was looking at a hysterical mental patient. Ji Yueling looked at him in panic, yet somehow, she actually saw a trace of tenderness in his eyes.
“Since you haven’t made such a resolution, it means hatred isn’t everything to you. You still have the desire to live, otherwise you wouldn’t fear, wouldn’t feel sad.”
“There’s still hope.” Gu Qing said this, then raised the revolver to his temple and pulled the trigger.
The gun still didn’t fire. Even he showed a trace of surprise. “Eh? Really lucky today.”
With that, he raised the gun toward the distant mountains and fired a shot. The last bullet shot out precisely, landing in a distant tree. The smell of gunpowder filled the pavilion.
Ji Yueling sat there in a daze, having lost all ability to think. She didn’t even notice that her skirt had become wet and warm from fear. She just stared blankly at Gu Qing’s profile. In the moonlight, his expression was calm and solemn. For a moment, she felt as if she was seeing a deity.
“What do you mean… there’s still hope for me?” Her voice was trembling and hoarse.
“Because I pushed you this far, yet you still hesitated about dying. That shows you didn’t really want to die in the first place, so you should live properly.” Gu Qing returned the revolver to her, then suddenly smiled at her. “People can only save themselves.”
“But I also proved my courage to you, showed you some entertainment, did something you didn’t dare do. Shouldn’t I get a little reward?” Gu Qing suddenly leaned close to her cheek, looking at her tear-stained eyelashes. “Let me kiss you?”
“Okay…” Ji Yueling was at a complete loss, as if she couldn’t grasp anything at that moment.
Gu Qing grasped her shoulders, leaned close, and lightly kissed her soft lips, feeling their softness and coldness. In an instant, he pulled back, his face showing complete satisfaction.
“You, you… madman…” Ji Yueling’s voice trembled. Gone was her arrogance and coldness, and her gaze at him was now filled with terror and fear.
“What? Madmen have no logical ability and only babble nonsense. I’ve always been clearly aware of what I’m doing.”
Gu Qing sat down beside her, looking at his wine glass. There was still one last sip of wine in it. He picked it up and drank it all, then slowly asked, “Are you going to change clothes before going home, or go home like this?”
Because Gu Qing had clearly heard the rather unfortunate sound from under her skirt just now.
Only then did Ji Yueling slowly lower her head to look at the slightly damp hem of her dress. She stared blankly for several seconds, then suddenly buried her face in her hands and began to cry.
…
Crying isn’t a way to escape the world.
So Ji Yueling would eventually stop crying. Gu Qing waited quietly beside her. The moment she stopped crying, she said nothing but stood up and reached behind her back to undo the tiny zipper hidden in her dress, letting the garment fall to her waist. Under her dress, she wore light purple French lingerie that perfectly supported her full yet perfectly proportioned breasts. Her waist was very slender, and in the moonlight, her skin seemed to glow faintly.
“Should I close my eyes?” Gu Qing asked timidly.
“Up to you,” Ji Yueling replied coldly, but a moment later, she suddenly said, “No… you can’t close your eyes.”
So Gu Qing sat there obediently like a good boy, watching her remove her dress completely until she was left in only her underwear. She stood there, taking out a pack of wet wipes and replacement underwear from the jade bracelet on her right hand.
Gu Qing watched as she began wiping her body with the wet wipes.
Gu Qing had closed his eyes before her clothes hit the ground, but Ji Yueling’s commanding voice rang in his ears: “Open your eyes and look at me.”
“I won’t look.”
“What are you afraid of?”
The next moment, Gu Qing seemed to sense a small, pale foot stepping on his leg, only to quickly withdraw as if shocked.
The next instant, he understood Ji Yueling’s meaning. “You suspect I’m a demon?”
Because demons below SS rank don’t feel sexual desire toward humans, and Gu Qing’s age clearly couldn’t be SS rank.
“Good if you’re not.” Ji Yueling replied coldly, but didn’t insist he open his eyes again. She just carefully wiped the moisture from her body with wet wipes, cleaning thoroughly for a long time until she’d used half the pack. Only then did she put on fresh underwear and a light purple silk nightgown.
“Done.”
Gu Qing slowly opened his eyes to find Ji Yueling had sat down in the chair across from him. She had changed into a light purple silk nightgown that fell to her knees, her legs crossed beneath it so that the hem was slightly disheveled, revealing her smooth, long, fair, and well-proportioned legs.
Really beautiful.
Gu Qing always looked at beautiful things with appreciative eyes, so his gaze lingered on Ji Yueling without concealment. At that moment, Ji Yueling’s lifted pale foot was gently swaying, her soft, pink sole facing him. It looked smooth and tender, especially alluring.
“You… why did you do this?” Ji Yueling’s emotions seemed to have finally calmed somewhat as she asked coldly.
“What?” Gu Qing didn’t quite understand her meaning.
“I’m asking you… why did you drag me into playing this game?”
“The answer is in your question.” Gu Qing replied innocently. “Precisely because it’s fun, that’s why it’s a game.”
“What if… I had pulled the trigger?”
“From a luck perspective, you were very lucky, because I didn’t die when I pulled the trigger either.”
“What if I had died?”
“Then I’d fulfill your dying wish, tell your father Old Tao’s whereabouts, let him help your friends get revenge, which would also be helping you get revenge. Your pain would be relieved too—that would be pretty good. But you should probably recall that message you sent, or it’ll be troublesome.”
“Already recalled.” Ji Yueling said flatly. Gu Qing sighed in relief, then stood up. Rather than give her more time to talk, he said, “Shall we go home then?”
“I still have things to ask you.”
“Ask next time. I’m sleepy.” Gu Qing rubbed his eyes, looking genuinely tired. Ji Yueling hesitated but ultimately didn’t ask anything more. Instead, she pointed to the high heels she’d kicked aside earlier.
“Put my shoes on for me.”
“You don’t really have to treat me like a servant…”
“You had an appearance fee for drinking with me today. Don’t you want your appearance fee?”
“You’re unbeatable.” Gu Qing shrugged, came to her side, tidied up her shoes, crouched down, gently grasped her ankle, and carefully put on her high-heeled Mary Janes. Only then did Ji Yueling’s calves touch the ground. She stood up and walked with him to the car.
“You drive. I’m a bit tired.” Ji Yueling’s voice truly carried some fatigue.
“I can’t drive,” Gu Qing shook his head. “Really can’t.”
So Ji Yueling still had to sit in the driver’s seat. After getting in the car, she turned sideways, indicating for Gu Qing to take off her shoes. Gu Qing didn’t mind, but after taking them off, he couldn’t resist his mischievous impulse and pressed hard on the sole of her foot.
Ji Yueling winced in pain, her pale foot instinctively kicking at him before quickly withdrawing. She started the engine, but this time didn’t drive as fast as before—much slower.
Gu Qing was able to lean against the car window and close his eyes. He really was a bit tired.
But Ji Yueling’s voice continued chattering in his ear: “How much do you know about my situation?”
“Li Si told me that you were previously kidnapped by Old Tao, and that Old Tao ate all your friends in front of you. Besides that, not much else. Also know that you really hate demons, wish you could kill them all.”
“As a human, shouldn’t I hate them?”
“Actually, demons were all once human too. But if you want to hate them, go ahead… It’s none of my business anyway.” Gu Qing yawned.
“Li Si owes you a favor, so you can make him tell you about Old Tao’s whereabouts. Well then… you can transfer this favor to me, tell me Old Tao’s whereabouts, and I’ll give you anything I can offer.”
“Like what?” Gu Qing asked mischievously.
“I can’t think of anything you’d be interested in right now. If you’re interested in me… before I die, I can let you sleep with me until you’re completely tired of it. I’m very clean.”
“Could you not say such wild things? I’m still a pure little lamb, really.” Gu Qing’s tone became unusually resentful.
“Besides, doing it without feelings is no different from dead fish and rotten meat—not exciting at all.” Gu Qing mocked Ji Yueling again. Ji Yueling was momentarily speechless, then said coldly, “You can name any conditions.”
“I haven’t decided yet, and I don’t really want to use this favor to exchange for things from you. Let’s talk about it later. Maybe when we get along better, I’ll give it to you voluntarily.”
“You mean you want me to actively please you?”
“Ew, fake flattery is more disgusting than genuine dislike.” Gu Qing shrugged, then continued, “Even if I told you Old Tao’s whereabouts now, you couldn’t kill him. Your own revenge and hatred should be ended by yourself.”
“But at least now there’s hope and something to look forward to, which is better than the aimless confusion of before, right?” Gu Qing closed his eyes, seeming unwilling to say more. Just as Ji Yueling was about to speak, Gu Qing covered his ears with his hands. “I’m really tired. Going to sleep.”
In the end, Ji Yueling said nothing more.
