Chapter 57
Chapter 57: Such Deduction
(Revised)
“Mmm♡… Please stop, Miss Witch♡…”
With just simple teasing, Funis was already completely defeated, misty moisture spreading in her cherry-pink eyes, glistening.
Cessia didn’t immediately release her. Threading through her soft hair to grasp her slender wrist, she opened her mouth and gently bit the reddened earlobe, her warm tongue accompanied by waves of azure stimulating the rich tactile nerves beneath the skin.
“Mmm♡~”
She couldn’t suppress the delicate sound.
Though crowds gathered outside the blood-colored curtain, after realizing she couldn’t be seen here, Funis no longer needed to force herself to appear reserved and elegant.
But the next second, she saw Charlotte looking over with a confused expression.
“Mr. Roy, did you hear any sound? It seemed like Celie… but…” Charlotte wasn’t certain, so she asked Roy standing nearby.
“A girl’s voice? I don’t think so—you probably heard wrong.” Roy looked around and didn’t see anything suspicious. “Focus on the case itself, little Charlotte. Those two rookies have already set out—leave the search to them. They’re from Vatica after all, with strict training. Finding a conspicuous girl in a crowd shouldn’t be too worrying.”
“Alright.” Charlotte still frowned and tapped her head before turning to enter the glass-strewn fashion store.
This unexpected little episode left Funis completely stunned. She’d thought the people outside couldn’t hear her voice, but clearly Charlotte had just been attracted by her soft moan.
“Huh? How… what’s happening? They shouldn’t be able to hear, right?” Funis asked in panic, lowering her voice.
Cessia just smiled, but her tongue became even more excessive, delicately licking the girl’s earlobe. “Mm? Did I ever say the outside absolutely couldn’t hear sounds from inside? This is my space—I can let anything pass through or let anything transmit out. I can even make the boundaries blur.”
“Eh?” Funis’s eyes widened.
So even if Cessia wanted to have her way with her here, she’d have to hold back her voice the entire time?
Was this punishment? This was definitely punishment!
Cessia must have heard those complaints! She’d been secretly watching from the shadows since then—this old woman’s heart was truly dark and malicious!
“Now isn’t the time to stand there dazing leisurely, is it? There’s a major case right before us, my little detective. If you can’t stand steady, I could support you and help you get closer.”
“Eh♡? No, no need♡… I can manage myself…”
Funis was terrified, because as she spoke, several vines had already broken through the brick, gently coiling around her slender legs covered in white silk stockings.
Her brain went briefly blank.
Something seemed to overflow uncontrollably, but Funis had temporarily lost consciousness and couldn’t judge what state her body had become.
Waking up groggily again, Roy and Charlotte were still discussing something by the carriage. Not much time seemed to have passed.
Funis found herself bound by vines lifting her limbs, while Cessia had untied all the removable ties on this complex dress during her unconsciousness.
“Miss… Miss Witch… I can’t observe the scene like this…” Funis trembled.
“How could that not work? Should we get closer then?” Cessia took Funis’s flailing little hand and, with the vines’ help, moved Funis forward a bit more. “How about now, my little detective? Close enough? Your eyesight shouldn’t be that poor.”
It was indeed closer.
But being closer to the carriage also meant being closer to Charlotte!
Now Funis was half-naked, suspended in air by vines, with her adoptive daughter and former admirer just steps away. Most critically, Funis had no idea when Cessia might let which of her cries transmit out for them to hear.
“What’s wrong? Don’t want to show your abilities in front of your sister?” Cessia stepped lightly to Funis’s front, brushing aside a fallen strand of pale pink hair before cupping her round face. “Speaking of which, your charming appearance is truly pink and adorable. Even deliberately restraining your body fragrance release, I still find this temptation hard to resist.”
So this hungry state was officially called “charming appearance”—Funis heard this for the first time.
But words like “pink and adorable” used to describe her… and coming from Cessia’s mouth…
“No… Since it’s Miss Witch’s request, I’ll take it seriously…” The girl turned her head slightly, rosy hues climbing from her neck to her ears as she shyly whispered.
“Very good. Let’s handle business first then, little detective.” The indulgent smile was gradually overtaken by cold killing intent. The blood color in Cessia’s wine-red eyes grew thicker. “I want to see who has the gall to publicly target my people.”
The ink-haired girl still held Funis’s hand as she stepped aside to give her a clear view.
Though suspended mid-air in an undignified position, Funis overcame her shame and fully displayed the excellent professional qualities she’d had as a Seraph-level enforcer.
The scene was quite tragic.
The horse pulling the carriage had its neck snapped the instant it crashed through the glass and hit the wall. Its body lay in a pool of blood, cut by glass shards until bloody and mangled, with deformed bones in grotesque positions that made one nauseous.
“This horse was clearly frightened then… because its master was killed, or because it saw something terrifying and instinctively tried to flee?” Charlotte was also crouched examining the horse’s corpse. Her analysis process didn’t differ much from Funis’s thoughts.
“The carriage is empty—we need to look for clues from the driver.” Roy circled the carriage while holding his cigar and exhaled smoke.
The carriage wheels had come off and rolled away. The overall structure was nearly collapsed, with cracks all over the carriage. The crack patterns were strange, as if following some pattern, but now appeared blurred and hard to distinguish, like they’d melted.
Roy had already checked the carriage interior for Funis—he found no useful clues.
But Funis didn’t entirely agree with Roy’s assessment.
“See anything, little detective?” Cessia suddenly leaned close and pinched her chin, vines under her skirt creeping toward her thighs. “Tell me your speculation first.”
“Um, well… Miss Witch, I’d be happy to tell you, but before that… could you have your children stop for a moment?” Funis trembled all over.
“Mm? That won’t do.” The girl smiled and tilted her head. “I specifically helped you because I wanted to watch you adorably moan while seriously deducing right beside your own daughter.”
