Chapter 11
Chapter 11: Silver Moon Valley
The evening sky was crystal clear, like a canvas inviting an artist to paint.
Silver Moon Valley was bustling tonight, with nobles of all ranks from Seyva having come.
Crystal chandeliers illuminated the entire hall, and musicians were tuning their instruments, preparing for tonight’s banquet.
The air was filled with the fragrance of champagne and pastries, along with the subtle scent of perfume from the noble ladies.
This banquet was destined to be Seyva’s grandest social event of the year.
But for some people, this might be an unforgettable night.
“Adelina, it’s been so long.”
Adelina wore a deep blue velvet gown with silver embroidered patterns on the hem.
The lace design at the chest perfectly showcased feminine elegance, achieving absolute balance between sensuality and grace.
Her rose-tea colored hair was carefully pinned up, with a few soft strands falling by her ears, making her delicate face even more captivating.
After briefly saying goodbye to her family, Adelina had just come to a corner to pull out her communication seal when she heard someone greeting her from behind.
“Linda, you came tonight too.”
Adelina took Linda’s hand and smiled gently.
Saint Andreas Academy and Lancher Academy often held joint activities.
The two student council presidents met frequently because of this and gradually became good friends.
“You helped me so much last time. Thanks to you letting me handle the dungeon joint hunting roster.”
“That time, I’d say you helped me more. You handled such a troublesome matter for me.”
Linda covered her mouth and looked around with a gossipy expression.
“Adelina, was there someone you liked on that roster?”
“How could that be? Linda, you’re really joking.”
“Aw, I thought there might be some gossip about a noble lady falling for a commoner.”
“You’ve been reading too many knight novels, haven’t you?”
Adelina lightly tapped Linda’s head, her expression appearing completely calm.
Linda didn’t notice Adelina gripping her own arm tightly, forcing herself to maintain a gentle smile.
What a joke!
She was only concerned about him because she saw how much Flin had done for her. What’s all this talk about li-li-li-liking him!
He’s the one who likes me!
He dumped Vilodie for me. I just feel sorry for him.
“Adelina really is beautiful tonight. Are you sure you didn’t dress up for some man?”
Linda hugged Adelina tightly, nuzzling her face with her head.
“Linda?! There’s absolutely nothing like that.” Adelina tried to push Linda away, but it didn’t work.
“If you don’t mind, I want to stay with you tonight, Adelina. I want to bask in your glow and get noticed by lots of boys too.”
“Eh, but…”
No!
Adelina roared internally.
Why did she have to stick with her tonight of all nights?
She had made a whole series of plans!
Like letting Vilodie “accidentally” see Flin feeding her cake.
Letting Vilodie “accidentally” see Flin cleaning her shoes.
Letting Vilodie “accidentally” see Flin braiding her hair.
Letting Vilodie “accidentally” see Flin kissing her…
“Adelina, what’s wrong? Why is your face so red?” Linda leaned closer, her nose almost touching Adelina’s face.
“Eh? Is it?”
Oh no!
Why was she blushing just from thinking about these things?
Adelina took a small sip of fruit tea to calm herself down.
If you looked at it purely from someone else’s perspective, being fawned over by Vilodie’s discarded lapdog wasn’t anything to be proud of.
But for Adelina, she absolutely had to accomplish this in front of Vilodie.
Making Flin, who had voted for Vilodie as a child, regret it was Adelina’s obsession.
If this was a play, Vilodie was just one element in their game.
Her thoughts and feelings were irrelevant.
Of course, if she could see Vilodie show the same regretful and desperate expression, that would be perfect.
After all, she had been inexplicably attacked by that pink-haired girl and had been grounded by her father for three days.
“Adelina is really popular. Unlike me – no boys will even look at me. Tonight even you don’t want to be with me, Adelina… am I unwanted…”
Linda collapsed onto Adelina, nuzzling against her soft chest and pretending to sob.
“Alright, alright, I’ll stay with you.”
Adelina sighed. She really had no way to deal with such a clingy person.
She hoped that after walking around for a bit, some boy would take notice of Linda and she’d leave quickly.
“Hehe, Lady Adelina is the best.”
!
Hearing these familiar words, Adelina suddenly thought of Flin.
He often said things like that too.
Today she was the one who had asked him to come to the banquet, but because of family reasons, she couldn’t be with him.
She could only secretly call him over when she found an opportunity, which made it seem like she was ashamed of him.
Adelina pulled Linda’s head away from her chest and looked at the crowd around them.
Would Flin feel inferior and sad at such a banquet?
He might even be humiliated by nobles he’d had conflicts with before about his current downfall.
They would pin him to the ground, shouting, “Why is someone like you allowed in the venue? Get out!”
She really was terrible, making Flin come to such a place just to satisfy her own desires.
Well, then she’d agree to one of Flin’s requests.
Secret crushes really were humble and difficult things. Good thing the one with a crush was him.
But he might ask for hugs, kisses, or being lifted up. If he got bold and asked for those inappropriate things…
Adelina’s face flushed red again, and Linda could see steam rising from her head.
“Adelina?? Are you really okay??” Linda asked urgently.
Also seeing Adelina’s reaction was Flin, who had been observing the two from the third floor.
Mission successful!
Flin was in a great mood and ate his twelfth chicken leg of the night.
To deal with the biggest crisis of his professional career, he had stayed up all night writing a thesis.
“Interpersonal Crisis Prediction and Response Strategy Research in Silver Moon Valley”
— Based on Behavioral Pattern Analysis of Vilodie and Adelina.
From the moment he stepped into Silver Moon Valley, he had begun executing his plan.
Linda and Adelina meeting was a coincidence?
That was too naive.
According to intelligence, student council president Linda had recently been dumped by her boyfriend and was very insecure. As long as she appeared at the venue, there was a chance she’d see other young couples being lovey-dovey and break down.
In the first-floor venue, Linda had four acquaintances including Adelina.
Flin just needed to get ahead of her and chat up the other three girls, so when Linda saw this scene, she’d be even more devastated and could only turn to Adelina.
Although the original owner was the eldest son of a great family, he was too much of a shut-in and almost no one had seen him, so there was no risk of exposure.
All of this was within Flin’s calculations.
Flin returned to the corner by the window and picked up his wine glass.
But speaking of which, it really was annoying.
Gardens, maids, castles – even this sunset seemed to be Silver Moon Valley’s decoration.
The Seraphiel family was actually this wealthy, renting out the entire castle.
Before he transmigrated, his pocket money probably would have been enough to book Silver Moon Valley for a month without any pressure.
Why didn’t he transmigrate earlier? Even enjoying it for one day would have been nice.
[Flin, where are you?]
Flin received Adelina’s message. His heart jumped, and he went to the railing to look down, seeing that Linda was already chatting and laughing with a noble young man.
Damn, wasn’t that Adelina’s cousin?
Had Adelina gone this far to implement her plan!
