Chapter 15
Chapter 15: Great, It’s Adelina—I’m Done For
How can I get her to transfer to my school!
Sophia watched the elegant and beautiful Adelina presenting her charity proposal, this thought repeating endlessly in her mind.
She’d heard long ago that the Claude family’s eldest daughter was not only exceptionally capable but also strikingly beautiful.
Now seeing her in person, the rumors were definitely true.
“Teacher Sophia, do you have any other suggestions?”
Sophia snapped back to attention and flipped through the charity proposal in her hands.
Flawless!
Linda from her school’s student council couldn’t even compare to Adelina.
Right now she was probably still wandering around the venue looking for men.
Really, comparing people just made you die of frustration.
“I don’t have any suggestions—you did very well. Though if you could invite the capital’s merchant guild to participate, the effect would be even better.”
“I’ve already considered that point. I’ve already spoken with the vice president of the capital’s merchant guild. If you agree, we can submit an invitation to them jointly in the name of Lanché Academy and St. Andrews Academy.”
“But won’t the main venue be too crowded…” Sophia raised a concern.
“If the capital’s merchant guild participates, I have a floor plan here with adjusted venue layout.” Adelina immediately displayed a carefully drawn floor plan.
“Miss Adelina, are you currently single?”
Sophia was stunned for a long moment before saying this.
“Eh? Um, I don’t have any plans to get married recently.”
A trace of panic flashed across Adelina’s face before she quickly regained her composure.
Hearing Adelina’s answer, the thought of introducing Adelina to Feilin floated through Sophia’s mind.
But she quickly dismissed this idea herself.
While it might pull Feilin out of Violetti’s shadow, Feilin might also fall into Adelina’s romantic swamp again.
Thinking about it this way, Feilin really fell for people too easily.
Such an innocent boy.
“With Miss Adelina’s plan, I can rest easy.”
Sophia walked two steps toward the silver table and picked up two wine glasses, preparing to toast to the future success of the charity plan.
Unexpectedly, when she turned back, she found Adelina looking somewhat strange.
She was staring fixedly at the balcony that Sophia had just been blocking, her expression still gentle as always, but her aura had somehow become frightening.
Following Adelina’s gaze, Sophia saw Violetti and Feilin being intimate on the balcony.
Adelina must think Feilin was pestering Violetti again, so she was angry.
Human nature—understandable.
But she’d never heard that Adelina and Violetti had such a good relationship.
Either way, she couldn’t let anyone disturb them.
Sophia stepped forward to block Adelina’s view and handed her the wine glass.
“Here’s to the success of our plan. Cheers.”
“Cheers.”
A sweet smile curved Adelina’s lips as she raised the glass lightly to her mouth.
Sophia noticed her arm trembling slightly.
“Teacher Sophia, if there’s nothing else, I won’t disturb you any longer.”
Adelina set down the wine glass, curtsied slightly, and walked toward the balcony.
Sophia wanted to follow and stop Adelina, but was intercepted by several annoying nobles.
“Miss Sophia, how did your conversation go? How about we continue…”
As Adelina walked toward the balcony, she maintained the gentle smile from her conversation with Sophia.
But her facial expression had already become very stiff.
What are those two doing!
The little person in Adelina’s heart exploded on the spot, letting out a shriek.
Why did they look like lovers from a novel, in such an intimate space as the balcony, gazing at the city’s night view while talking about life.
Had Feilin abandoned her again?
Had Feilin once again chosen to give up on her for Violetti?
Adelina’s whole body began to tremble as childhood shadows once again surfaced before her eyes.
Just as her hand touched the balcony glass door, she suddenly snapped awake.
Wait, what was she doing?
Go in now and scold Feilin like some bitter woman?
Call him heartless, a scumbag, shameless.
Wouldn’t that make it seem like she and Feilin were a couple?
Adelina steadied her emotions and stood in front of the glass window, watching the two people on the balcony.
Feilin was leaning on the railing, gazing at Saiva’s night view.
Violetti stood obediently beside him, hands tightly gripping her skirt, head down, looking like she didn’t know what to say.
Reason once again occupied the high ground of Adelina’s mind.
She stood in place as her excellent brain began to think.
Known: Feilin used to like Violetti.
Also known: A few days ago, Feilin didn’t like Violetti and liked her instead.
Currently: Violetti’s appearance suggested she had actively sought out Feilin.
Therefore: Violetti regretted it—she liked Feilin.
So: Violetti liked Feilin, and Feilin liked her.
Adelina took a minute to complete this complex chain of reasoning.
The childhood shadow that had reappeared—she seemed to have splashed colorful paint all over it.
She won. She won big.
Wasn’t this exactly the most satisfying script she’d always fantasized about?
More than ten years of resentment transformed into joy at a speed Adelina couldn’t control, surging through every corner of her body.
She was the victor.
She had really stolen Feilin away, and Violetti was actually starting to regret it.
Under the impact of such flood-like emotions, Adelina suddenly pulled open the balcony door and slowly walked inside.
She didn’t even know what she was going in to do.
But her body instinctively wanted to find Feilin and show off her joy, completely ignoring Violetti.
Adelina had won big. Feilin was screwed.
Three minutes ago, when Feilin yawned, he’d spotted that familiar figure standing outside the balcony.
That person, right? That’s Adelina, right?
Seeing him with Violetti, was she coming in to commit murder?
The glass door was slowly pushed open, and the three of them gathered together in a strange way.
“Miss Violetti, so you’re here.”
Adelina stood in the doorway, her brain, intoxicated by victory, finally remembering that Violetti was still there.
Feilin stood in the corner shadows, his gaze sweeping back and forth between the two most outstanding young ladies at the banquet.
It was over.
Everything was over.
Why.
He’d clearly spent so long on strategy last night.
Why was the development so different from his plan?
“Miss Violetti, congratulations.”
“Thank you.”
Violetti composed her expression and nodded at Adelina with courtesy, then continued to look back at Feilin.
“Miss Violetti and I have a pretty good relationship at school. We’re just catching up here.”
Feilin no longer cared whether the plot made sense—he was somewhat giving up.
“Is that so?”
Adelina walked toward Feilin with stiff steps.
The opportunity had come.
Adelina remembered her checklist plan.
She wanted to make Feilin feed her cake, tie her shoes, massage her shoulders in front of Violetti…
How thrilling.
Adelina’s heartbeat grew faster and faster. She stared intently at Feilin, and just thinking about what she was going to do next made her body tremble uncontrollably.
Feilin watched Adelina approach him with a stiff smile, feeling somewhat afraid.
She really was going to stab me!
At this moment, Violetti, who had been silent, suddenly spoke.
“Adelina, do you like Feilin?”
