Chapter 23
Chapter 23: The Clown Is Here
Sunlight streamed through the classroom windows, illuminating tiny dust particles floating in the air. The white curtains by the window swayed gently in the breeze.
Feilin took several deep breaths and closed his eyes.
He could feel his classmates discussing him, their gazes—mixed with various emotions—converging on him.
Though everyone usually gossiped behind his back, at least they didn’t stare at him with these kinds of looks like today.
Had some new version of rumors appeared again?
Feilin closed his notebook and stretched lazily.
He had studied happily for the entire afternoon today.
In the past, Feilin had to spend time every day thinking of new ways to please Vilordi.
Now he only needed to focus on studying.
“Feilin.”
Feilin turned around to see a gloomy-faced classmate standing behind him.
Was this going to be school bullying?
“Vilordi wants to see you.”
As soon as these words were spoken, the entire class fell silent.
Who didn’t know that Feilin was Vilordi’s devoted lapdog?
The things Feilin had done for Vilordi could not be finished even if spoken for three days and nights.
But wasn’t Vilordi the aloof school beauty? So many male students didn’t even dare approach her to strike up a conversation.
Yet she was actually taking the initiative to find Feilin?
Feilin tilted his head and indeed saw striking pink hair standing at the doorway.
Like a cherry blossom tree radiating the essence of summer in the afternoon.
“Vilordi? What’s the matter?”
Feilin ignored those gazes and came to the doorway.
“Giving you books.”
Vilordi took out two notebooks she had written from her bag and handed them to Feilin with both hands.
“Why are you giving me books?”
“I hope you get into the Royal Capital Academy.”
Feilin was stunned. He saw expectation faintly hidden in Vilordi’s eyes.
He couldn’t have too much of a relationship with Vilordi.
Feilin reached out to push those two books back.
But Vilordi stubbornly extended her hands, using all her strength to try to give them to Feilin.
Just as the two were pulling back and forth, an angry roar came.
“What are you two doing!”
Both their gazes turned toward the corner.
That familiar blonde hair appeared before them again.
Linda was furious.
The scumbag had appeared again.
Looking at this, he even wanted to give Vilordi books?
Did he really think all us girls would fall for this act!
Feilin looked at Linda gradually approaching and sighed inwardly.
This young lady had shown inexplicable hostility toward him since morning.
Though it wasn’t incomprehensible.
To use Linda to hold back Adelina at the banquet, Feilin had investigated Linda’s background.
This pure-hearted young lady had just been scammed out of a hundred thousand crowns in an online romance.
She therefore hated lying men.
When Feilin was at Adelina’s house, he had seen Linda’s chat records with her boyfriend.
He could tell at a glance that her online romance partner was an old woman pretending to be a pure young man.
Linda was a complete romantic idiot.
She probably saw him with Vilordi and associated it with her own experience of being deceived.
“Miss Vilordi, you’re being harassed by this man again, aren’t you?”
Linda quickly walked to Vilordi’s side, gently embracing Vilordi and pulling her away from Feilin.
The notebook in her hand was also thrown to Feilin by Linda.
“You’re actually giving Vilordi study notes? Don’t you know what your grades are like? Can’t you think of a better gift?”
Vilordi was just about to say something, but seeing the notebook reach Feilin’s hands in such an inexplicable way, the corners of her mouth turned up slightly.
“Linda, I’m not—I didn’t—”
“Still making excuses! Vilordi, let’s go. We won’t talk to such a lying scumbag. Men are really too disgusting!”
Linda pulled Vilordi’s hand, wanting to leave.
But she discovered that Vilordi stood in place and couldn’t be pulled no matter what.
She turned back to find Vilordi looking at her with those icy eyes.
“You’re not allowed to talk about Feilin like that!”
As soon as these words were spoken, the air froze.
The students who had originally been lying by the windows watching the show now desperately wished for ears that hadn’t heard Vilordi say this.
The aloof Vilordi who had belonged to everyone was now actually protecting her lapdog Feilin.
The world had collapsed.
Linda stayed in place, still holding Vilordi’s hand.
“Vi… Vilordi?” Linda’s voice was trembling. Her brain, already romantically clueless, simply couldn’t process such a sudden situation.
“He’s Feilin, not someone else, he’s that disgusting pursuer of yours…”
Linda tried to remind Vilordi, but found her voice getting smaller and smaller.
“Feilin is a good person. You’re not allowed to talk about him like that.”
Vilordi’s heartbeat grew faster and faster. She wasn’t used to so many people’s gazes converging on her.
Her cheeks also began to flush slightly, like cherry blossoms imprinted on her.
Linda slowly let go of her hand, feeling like she had been hurt by the world once again.
What had happened between these two?
Wasn’t Feilin Vilordi’s lapdog?
Could it be that he had actually moved Vilordi’s heart through his devotion!
No, no, no, how was that possible?
But, but…
But looking at Vilordi’s protective manner, if it wasn’t being moved, what was it!
Linda wanted to hold her head and scream.
She had just wanted to come rescue Vilordi.
She hadn’t expected to be force-fed dog food by Vilordi.
The class bell rang at this inopportune moment.
“What are you people still doing here?”
Sofia, who was patrolling, saw so many people still gathered at this class’s doorway.
And why were students from several neighboring classes also lying nearby, secretly watching?
Hearing the grade director’s voice, the students scattered and fled.
Seeing Feilin and Vilordi as the two people in the center of the crowd, Sofia didn’t find it strange.
Vilordi taking the initiative to find Feilin was century-breaking news.
According to Sofia’s thinking, even if she gathered the entire school and spoke for three days and nights on stage, it wouldn’t be excessive.
“Teacher Sofia.”
Sofia saw Linda walking toward her like a lost soul, and couldn’t help but reach out to embrace her.
I understand, I understand.
I was just like this myself.
Feilin sat back in the classroom somewhat stiffly. He didn’t notice that he was still holding Vilordi’s notebook and had casually put it in his bag.
He really hadn’t expected Vilordi to say words defending him in front of all those people.
She was just an idiot with zero social and romantic experience.
Based on Feilin’s experience, this young lady probably just felt he was too pitiful, having to be criticized by Linda as well, so she defended him a bit.
But in others’ eyes, wasn’t this totally a reversal feel-good story!
In places his naked eye couldn’t see, Feilin could already feel that scene spreading throughout the entire academy through countless mouths and countless notes.
If Lord Siraphel found out that his daughter actually had such rumors, then he would have no good days ahead.
Feilin scribbled randomly on paper.
Speaking of which, if he performed slightly poorly in front of Dai’s father, he would also have no good days.
Was he in conflict with fathers-in-law this year?
In the following time, the school appeared calm on the surface but was actually turbulent underneath.
Feilin walked out of school alone with his backpack under everyone’s gazes.
But he didn’t notice a cute pink figure following behind him at a distance.
Vilordi watched Feilin’s silhouette gradually merge with the sunset.
She hadn’t managed to tell Feilin about going to his house after school to help him with tutoring.
She needed to hurry up and catch up to talk to him.
Otherwise, if she kept walking like this, Feilin would reach home and it would be very impolite to approach him then.
