Chapter 28
Chapter 28: This Doesn’t Make Sense!
After dinner, the atmosphere in the room felt somewhat heavy.
The originally ambiguous air seemed to be sucked away by an invisible hand, leaving only the weak halo from the desk lamp.
“Wait, I forgot to ask you.”
Adelina’s expression became unprecedentedly serious, her beautiful eyebrows slightly furrowed. “Are you from this world?”
Philin was stunned. Why did this question sound so familiar?
The night city gradually quieted down, with only a few streetlights still dutifully emitting warm light.
Adelina sat at the desk, her rose-tea colored hair falling over her shoulders, looking particularly soft under the light.
Philin had originally thought that Adelina’s offer to tutor him was just part of their play.
Maybe after tutoring, Adelina wanted him to cry loudly and say he had been blind to vote for Violet as kindergarten class president when Lady Adelina was so gentle, kind, and intelligent.
But it turned out she was serious.
Adelina’s eyes looked somewhat unfocused.
She felt her plan slipping away from her.
She knew Philin had been an idle noble before, but she hadn’t expected his grades to be this bad.
Adelina didn’t think Philin was stupid—on the contrary, she thought he was quite smart with a good memory. He remembered every one of her preferences clearly.
But why didn’t he know many common-sense things?
“Let me teach you again.”
Adelina’s hair inadvertently fell on Philin’s arm, bringing a faint tickling sensation.
Her slightly leaning body emitted a light fragrance, her fair face looking particularly gentle under the desk lamp. Those beautiful eyes focused intently on the problems, her eyelashes casting small shadows on her face.
She crossed her legs, revealing a section of fair thigh. The hem of her skirt rode up slightly, creating a tantalizing glimpse.
“This formula is actually very simple, you just need to…”
Adelina truly deserved to be the number one perfect lover in the hearts of Lanchel Academy students.
Which boy hadn’t fantasized about being tutored by a gentle, lovely beautiful girl?
Generally speaking, they would also fantasize about what happened in the room after tutoring ended.
“Not bad, you learn quickly.”
Adelina breathed a sigh of relief.
Philin really wasn’t stupid—his progress was obvious.
It was just that time was still too tight. It seemed she’d have to work overtime at night.
Adelina looked up at the clock on the wall—it was already nine o’clock.
These past few days, the Claude family guards would patrol around her house around eleven.
They would definitely sense Philin’s presence, so he couldn’t stay overnight.
She bit her lip, a bold idea flashing through her mind: if only she could trick her father into thinking she was staying at a female classmate’s house… but…
Adelina bit her lip and stole a glance at Philin.
However, going to a boy’s house late at night…
Adelina’s face instantly turned bright red.
This was just to reward an employee, definitely not for any other reason!
Adelina repeatedly comforted herself. After all, she had promised Philin she would fulfill one of his wishes.
Keeping her word—this was her creed as a daughter of the Claude family and student council president of Lanchel Academy!
“Do you have any spare notebooks in your bag? I’ll write down the key points for you.” Adelina’s thoughts returned to teaching.
“Got it, Lady Adelina.”
Philin took out a notebook with a pink unicorn printed on it from his bag and placed it on the desk.
“Look carefully, the key point here is…”
Adelina had just opened the notebook to write the key points when Philin snatched it back with extreme speed, leaving only a white afterimage.
“What’s wrong?”
Adelina looked up to see Philin showing a hint of panic.
He clutched the notebook tightly, as if protecting some absolutely undiscoverable secret.
“I took the wrong notebook, this is one I don’t usually use. Let me get another one.”
That was close!
This was the notebook Violet had given him! He’d kept it in his bag and forgotten to return it.
If Adelina saw that he had Violet’s things in his bag, this young lady would immediately turn dark.
The more gentle she was now, the more crazy she’d be when she turned dark.
Adelina nodded and peered into Philin’s bag without saying anything.
The tutoring continued.
“Lady Adelina, let me make you a cup of hot milk.”
“Alright, thank you.”
Watching Philin’s departing figure, Adelina’s gaze fell on Philin’s bag again.
Curiosity drove her to slowly move closer to his bag.
“Looking through someone else’s bag is very impolite behavior.”
Adelina looked away and muttered to herself.
But this was the first time she’d seen Philin panic like that.
And that notebook was pink too.
Could it be something another woman gave him? It couldn’t be Violet’s, could it?
“Should I, should I just look this once?”
Adelina gently opened Philin’s bag and took out the notebook with the pink unicorn.
“S-sorry, Philin… I just…”
Adelina took a deep breath and opened the notebook.
“Eh?”
She saw pages full of love words.
[Lady Adelina, I actually fell in love with you, I’m really troubled, how should I deal with my feelings for Violet!]
Philin stood at the door holding milk, watching through the crack as Adelina predictably went through his bag, a satisfied smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
Women’s curiosity was strong—how could Philin not know this?
Especially when facing another woman, their intuition was always surprisingly accurate.
Since he had shown a flaw in front of Adelina, he couldn’t just simply cover it up.
He had already taken advantage of Adelina’s inattention to remove the pink unicorn cover from Violet’s notebook and put it on his own notebook.
Hmph, don’t underestimate me!
He watched through the crack as Adelina’s body froze by the desk, then stiffly put his notebook back in the bag.
Adelina must feel very guilty for wrongly suspecting him, right? How about giving me some money as an apology!
Her pale thighs pressed tightly together, her whole body curled up in a ball. Her chest pressed against the desk as she buried her head deeply.
Through the gaps in her hair, Philin could see her ears were red enough to drip blood.
Is this how the Claude family’s young lady looks when she feels guilty?
Philin felt something was wrong and quickly pushed the door open, pretending nothing had happened.
“Lady Adelina, let’s continue.”
“Mm.”
Adelina made a response so soft it was almost inaudible.
Her gaze was unfocused, her cheeks flushed, occasionally stealing glances at Philin before quickly looking away.
That notebook really was one Philin used for random writing when bored.
Philin himself had forgotten he’d written some practice love words in it.
Adelina covered her reddening neck with her hand, not wanting to lose composure in front of Philin.
No wonder he wanted to snatch the notebook back—he was afraid I’d discover it.
He really loves me so much!
So, going to his house tonight wouldn’t be impossible..
