Chapter 33
Chapter 33: The War Called Love
Violette gripped the seventh-tier spell seal that could blow up the entire coffee shop, like a drowning person clutching a lifeline.
This spell seal was given to her by her father for self-defense. Even the entire Seraphiel family only had a few—they were very hard to obtain.
She had only used it once since childhood, that day in the underground city when she saw Filin with Edlina.
That time Violette’s father had severely scolded her and made her stay confined for three days.
Violette had reflected properly and wouldn’t be so willful again.
But now it seemed Violette’s reflection hadn’t been thorough enough.
Filin, a girl, looking for him.
Violette didn’t dislike Filin chatting and laughing with other girls.
She was afraid Filin would never pay attention to her again.
If he was seduced away by some bad woman, she might never see Filin again in her lifetime.
If she encountered a girl like herself who wanted to lock Filin up at home forever, that would be terrible.
If anyone was going to lock him up, it could only be her. No one else was allowed.
Violette’s gaze moved back and forth between the staircase and the clock hanging on the wall.
Four minutes and twenty-five seconds had passed, and Filin still hadn’t come back up.
He might just be chatting with that girl.
He might have already been lured to that girl’s house.
I need to save Filin.
Violette stood up from her seat, put the seventh-tier spell seal in her pocket, and looked down from the stairway.
Filin and that girl were still downstairs.
Hearing Filin’s voice, Violette felt much more at ease.
But that girl also made Violette feel a sense of crisis.
Black and red streaked short hair gave her cute, pure face a touch of stylishness.
The girl had a good figure—the top button of her shirt wasn’t fastened. If she bent over slightly, you could see everything.
She had tied her school uniform jacket around her waist, looking somewhat rebellious. But paired with her lip gloss that sparkled under the lights, she seemed like a cute young lady.
Violette had to admit in her heart that this was a cute beautiful girl capable of seducing Filin.
After the two talked for a bit, they actually left together through the door.
Where were they going?
Violette held her breath and gripped the railing tightly. After they had walked away for a while, she ran downstairs.
“Excuse me, customer, is there something wrong?”
The clerk saw Violette trying to run out of the shop and quickly stopped her—the bill hadn’t been paid yet.
“Those two just now—where were they going?”
Hearing this question, the clerk showed a knowing expression.
“Hehe, customer, it’s better if you don’t know about this.”
Violette’s face darkened.
What kind of expression was that? So annoying. She wanted to blow up this shop right now.
The sky grew darker, but all of Holmholt grew brighter.
Filin walked with this beautiful girl who called herself Bernice, attracting many onlookers.
“Young sir, would you like your beautiful girlfriend to try our newest [Seraphina] necklace? Your girlfriend’s temperament really…”
The clerk who had tried to sell to Filin and Violette earlier stopped talking.
She still remembered this good-looking young man.
But it had only been an hour—why had he changed to a different beautiful girl?
You change girlfriends faster than our shop gets new inventory.
“The clerk thought we were lovers.”
Bernice covered her mouth with her hand, smiling with curved eyes as if talking to herself.
“We must look really compatible in others’ eyes.” She covered her chest with her right hand, bending over while leaning close, looking up at Filin’s eyes from below.
Those moist eyes held a girl’s fluttering heart.
She moved close to Filin’s side, the perfume she had deliberately applied behind her ears spreading its hormonal scent.
According to Bernice’s calculations, Filin should be about ready to fall by now.
She had made up an excuse saying she was a new transfer student, also a member of the study group, wanting to buy a gift for senior Violette in the same group, so she asked Filin to accompany her.
The young man beside her hadn’t noticed anything unusual and had readily agreed.
Bernice had never done such intimate things with a man before. She had done intensive training before coming to Seyva. Although it was her first time, she felt this kind of thing wasn’t that difficult.
Within a week, she could make Filin come to her side voluntarily.
Conquering Filin would be easy as pie.
Filin showed a slightly shy smile—he was currently playing the role of an innocent youth.
From the moment he first saw Bernice, he realized she was just acting.
Even her chest was padded.
He didn’t expose her partly because he really wanted to pick out a gift for Violette. After all, she was helping him with tutoring, and he didn’t want to owe her a favor. Bernice could also give him some advice—picking gifts was the most troublesome thing.
On the other hand, he also wanted to spar with Bernice, to see what it felt like to be served. Reviewing from the user’s perspective to grasp core user needs and improve service quality.
Learning and reviewing every moment—if I don’t deserve to earn this money, who does!
As for why Bernice was acting in front of him, Filin wasn’t quite sure yet.
“Lovers? If we became lovers, what would Miss Bernice want to do?”
Filin’s profile was very handsome.
The moonlight and streetlights made his clear jawline even more distinct in Bernice’s eyes.
“Eh?”
Bernice hadn’t expected Filin to ask this—the books hadn’t taught her this.
“Probably just staying at home together doing nothing. Don’t look at me like this—I actually prefer staying at home alone.”
Wait, this is bad!
Bernice suddenly felt something was wrong.
This youth in front of her with his innocent smile had asked a question that made her subconsciously admit they were already lovers.
And she had actually actively thought about life after becoming lovers with him.
Could this person be an expert?
Bernice found it hard to connect the word “expert” with the youth in front of her.
In their exchange, they unknowingly arrived at the doll shop.
From their earlier conversation, both agreed that giving Violette a doll as a gift would be good.
The clerk had heard these words too, thinking it was a surprise for Violette, so she never told Violette.
The kind-hearted clerk didn’t know she had almost ignited Violette.
Filin looked at the dolls on the shelf, casually playing with them.
He had to admit, he really didn’t understand dolls.
Filin had no idea what standards girls used to consider dolls cute.
Some dolls he thought were incredibly ugly were unexpectedly popular with girls, like that pink plush pig head he’d given Edlina.
While dolls he thought were cute, girls would think weren’t that cute after all.
But with Bernice beside him, he shouldn’t make mistakes.
He should ask for her opinion properly.
“Miss Bernice, do you think this is cute?”
Filin picked up two yellow slime dolls and held them beside his face.
Bernice turned to see Filin like this and suddenly felt her heart tighten, gripping the doll beside her.
Cute…
What the two didn’t notice was that behind the glass door, a pair of amber eyes was staring intently at them both.
“Blow you all up…”
The pink-haired girl muttered to herself.
