Chapter 55
Chapter 55: Demon, You’re Really Feilin’s Great Helper
Feilin felt his current situation was very dangerous.
His consciousness was gradually awakening, but his body was still completely immobilized.
The air was filled with damp moisture, and Feilin felt his head spinning.
Moreover, he was actually starting to see his life flash before his eyes.
Violette, Adeline, Dai, that songstress, the dragon girl, the princess, the witch—their faces kept appearing in his mind.
The most terrifying part was that they all seemed to have married him already.
Just thinking about opening his eyes every day to face these problematic girls, Feilin was immediately scared awake.
He gasped heavily, clutching his chest as he sat up.
Crystal light penetrated through the thin mist, weaving together into a hazy veil of light in the air.
A stream meandered from a distant moss-covered cliff, creating tiny ripples of light.
The dungeon actually had scenery like this?
“You’re lucky to have been teleported together with me.” Bernice’s emotionless voice came from behind him.
Feilin turned around to find her standing on a large rock.
Unlike his own disheveled appearance, Bernice looked as if nothing had happened at all.
“What’s the situation now?”
“Hubert is a space demon. After being hit by my divine magic, he released his origin magic—randomly teleporting people to various locations throughout the dungeon.”
“Sounds pretty useless.”
“You’re wrong. His origin magic lasts four hours. As long as he doesn’t die, we’ll keep getting randomly teleported, and next time you might find yourself alone. He’ll randomly appear beside each person, and if you’re isolated, he’ll kill you.”
“Then I’m finished.”
Feilin raised his hands in surrender.
He was the weakest one here—if the demon didn’t kill him, who would it kill?
“This isn’t even the deep levels of the dungeon. Why would there be a demon, a high-level magical beast like that?”
Bernice fell silent.
From the moment they entered the dungeon, she had noticed two groups of numerous, powerful people nearby.
She roughly knew the reason.
The people sent by the three young ladies—Violette, Adeline, and Dai—were strong enough to awaken a demon.
It couldn’t really be said that anyone was at fault, since the three of them didn’t know about each other.
And now wasn’t the time to discuss fault. Feilin might really be targeted by the demon.
“Do you have any last words?”
Bernice came to Feilin’s side, crouching by his face.
“We’re already talking about last words? Not going to struggle a bit?” Feilin was still leaning against the rock, his body unable to handle the origin magic from earlier.
“Being with me is no problem, of course. Me killing that demon to stop the magic is no problem either. But if neither of those happens, then you have a problem.”
“Then I guess I should leave some last words.”
Feilin looked at the masked girl with open eyes. That thing—it should be okay to say it now, right?
“I have something I really want to say.”
“Go ahead.”
“Bernice, you look very cute without your chest padding.”
?!
The originally cold eyes behind the mask instantly widened, and the spell gun in her hand nearly dropped to the ground.
Bernice’s body froze suddenly, as if struck by lightning.
Her ear tips turned red at a visible speed, the color spreading all the way to her neck.
“You… you…”
Her voice became sharp, the previously mechanical tone completely gone.
Even her armor made faint sounds from her trembling.
“You pervert!”
Feilin enjoyed that title, feeling as if he were standing on a cliff with arms spread wide, feeling the fierce mountain wind.
He had just spoken his thoughts aloud.
“When did you figure it out?”
“My identity? Or the chest padding?”
“My identity, of course! And please stop mentioning the chest padding!”
She slowly removed her mask, revealing that familiar face. Her black hair with red highlights was slightly disheveled, and her eyes still held traces of embarrassment and annoyance.
She pressed her lips together, trying to maintain the last shred of dignity.
“I knew when we registered as a team.”
“Why? I thought my acting wasn’t bad.”
“It was your perfume. You use ‘Silver Moon Dew.’” Feilin smiled. “That scent with its metallic crispness is rare in Seyva. Plus, that perfume is exclusively supplied to the Divine Church—ordinary people can’t buy it at all.”
Bernice was stunned. She hadn’t expected to be exposed by such a small detail.
“You actually remembered my scent. You really are a pervert.”
Could it be that he’s been paying attention to me all along?
This thought suddenly flashed through her mind, making her heart skip a beat.
Bernice rarely had contact with men and had no friends. Most of her time was spent training and fighting.
Therefore, this kind of attention from the opposite sex was very unfamiliar to her.
To lure Feilin, she had experienced normal teenage girl life for the first time.
Shopping with Feilin, cooking for Feilin, attending school at Feilin’s school.
Worrying about studies at school, occasionally chatting with the boy she liked, discussing romantic troubles with friends.
So this is what an ordinary girl’s life is like.
Bernice had to admit she had enjoyed that false school time.
She glanced sideways at Feilin, just about to say something, when she felt a magical fluctuation from her body.
“Feilin, I think I’m about to be teleported away.”
Feilin saw that Bernice’s body was already covered by a large patch of deep blue magic power.
“If you’re going to die, I’ll kill him for you.”
“Haven’t you considered that I might kill him instead?”
Bernice, completely covered by the magic power, finally showed a slight smile.
Then her figure gradually faded in the blue light, as if melting into the air.
The surroundings fell silent again.
Feilin clutched his chest and slowly stood up. He felt much better now.
Tiny blue flowers bloomed by the stream, swaying gently with the water vapor.
The distant mountains looked like a painting caressed by the gods.
According to normal settings, some hidden master should appear here, maybe with forbidden books or something.
Maybe this would be his training ground, with springs that could completely restore him, allowing him to fight monsters and level up without worry.
When he emerged from here, he would already be the world’s number one.
Just as Feilin was immersed in his fantasy, the space in front of him showed signs of tearing again.
Was it that demon?
Feilin held his breath, staring intently at that space.
A pink figure tumbled out of the crack.
It was Violette.
Her body began falling from mid-air.
Feilin gritted his teeth and forced his body up, ignoring the pain throughout his body as he rushed forward.
“Watch out!”
He spread his arms wide and steadily caught Violette as she fell from the air.
Violette fell into his embrace, her soft body still trembling slightly.
Her long hair scattered across Feilin’s shoulder, carrying a faint fragrance.
“Feilin…”
Violette looked up, her amber eyes still filled with panic, but the moment she saw Feilin, her gaze immediately softened.
The two were close enough to hear each other’s heartbeats, and Violette’s cheeks gradually flushed red.
“Are you okay?”
Violette curled up in Feilin’s arms, burying her head against his chest.
Her fingers gripped tightly onto Feilin’s clothes, as if afraid he would suddenly disappear.
But Feilin still gently set Violette down and stepped back, creating distance between them.
Violette sat on the ground in a daze, seeming to still long for Feilin’s warmth.
The two fell into silence again.
“Are you uncomfortable anywhere?”
Violette shook her head, her gaze still fixed on Feilin’s chest.
I want to… once more…
