Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Dungeons and Beautiful Girls
Seyva’s morning, with sunlight gently falling on every street.
The aroma of fresh-baked bread, the laughter of short-skirted girls walking together, and the sound of cart wheels merged together as the streets gradually came alive.
Western Seyva.
This was the entrance to the underground mineral veins, also known as the dungeon.
Because of the underground mineral veins, animals living in the caverns would develop magic crystals in their bodies. These crystals were the power source for all magic tools and also offerings to the gods by the divine church.
Hunting magical beasts to obtain magic crystals was like drilling for oil.
Where there’s oil, bacteria grow, and of course the dungeon would have all sorts of people doing immoral things here.
To prevent such situations, low-level adventurers would uniformly pay entrance fees to the Adventurers’ Guild.
Since you’d already been robbed once by the Adventurers’ Guild, you couldn’t be robbed by others, or the Adventurers’ Association would punish you.
That was the logic.
“Oh, Mr. Feilin, you’re here again? The school already contacted us this time, so we can give you a crystal badge.”
Different badges allowed access to different areas, facing different levels of magical beasts. Coming alone, he could only get a copper badge.
“Thank you, Lucia.”
Lucia at the guild’s front desk was a girl with a voluptuous figure. Her lovely face paired with black stockings and a white uniform emphasized her physical advantages even more.
Seeing the youthful energy in Feilin that hadn’t yet been tainted by society, Lucia’s heart began to stir.
She’d seen this handsome young man several times over the past few months.
“Take your badge, young man.”
Lucia picked up the badge and, under Feilin’s gaze, placed it in the valley of her chest, squeezing it tightly with two soft mounds.
Being stared at lecherously by a bunch of unwashed old men all day was really unbearable.
Hate old men, become old men.
Flirting was really fun.
“Why aren’t you taking it? Are you shy?”
Maybe he’d think about her for the rest of the day. Maybe tonight when he got home, he’d even fantasize about her while relaxing.
“Thank you very much.”
Feilin reached out and gently retrieved the crystal badge from her chest.
He kissed the badge that still carried her body warmth and winked at Lucia.
“I’ve been blessed by the goddess of luck today. I’m sure to have good fortune.”
Lucia stood there frozen, her expression almost petrified.
“Wait, Mr. Feilin, I happen to be free tonight after work. How about we… I live at 512 Lanko District. I have a younger brother and sister at home. My father’s job is…”
Feilin smiled sweetly, waved, and headed toward the entrance.
“I don’t need a dowry…” Lucia didn’t realize she’d said so much in one breath.
The dungeon entrance was quite lively today.
Two academies had gathered about 100 people here.
Each team had five people, with no strong characters like supervising teachers.
After all, this was a student council-organized activity—no teachers would join.
“Did you hear? This year’s groupings are really weird.”
“Yeah, I heard Caroline, Robert, and Emma—the top three in their grade—are all in the same group.”
“Isn’t that putting all the strongest together?”
“Could someone have arranged this on purpose?”
Feilin stood in a corner, eavesdropping on their conversation.
He had no classmates or friends willing to accompany him into the dungeon, so he had to join this group activity.
The dungeon was very dangerous, full of magical beasts. Without companions to look after you, the danger level shot straight up.
Yesterday he’d heard that Adelina seemed to be in charge of this matter.
Could Adelina have arranged something for him?
“I really have been spending too much time with Adelina.”
Feilin smiled bitterly. He was actually having such thoughts.
To that young lady, he was nothing more than a tool for venting anger.
“Now announcing the group assignments.”
Group after group was called out. When those three top-ranking names were mentioned, everyone prayed they’d be grouped with them.
Feilin sat in the corner, hearing two completely unfamiliar names.
As expected, nothing to do with him.
He’d actually thought a client would help him. How presumptuous.
“Feilin Solster.”
Here it comes. Just give me a few teammates who aren’t stupid! Please!
He waited a long time, but never heard his teammates’ names.
“That concludes the group assignments.”
He was in a group by himself?
No way!
The surrounding students whispered among themselves, glanced at Feilin a few times, but didn’t probe further.
As a former noble, Feilin naturally wouldn’t be accepted by commoners, and his reputation at school wasn’t great because of the Violetti situation.
No one would speak up for him.
He must have been sabotaged by some petty person, right? Feilin was speechless.
He never expected that even being this handsome, he’d still be ostracized. Wasn’t there some gentle female classmate who’d long admired him to invite him along?
Feilin watched students gradually pairing off and entering the dungeon entrance, feeling somewhat frantic.
If worst came to worst, even a guy would be fine!
The once-lively square was left with only the sound of wind blowing through.
Fine, going alone was okay too. He could enjoy some rare peace and quiet.
Feilin sighed and headed toward the dungeon.
“Feilin.”
A familiar, gentle voice came from behind.
Feilin turned around to see Adelina standing there.
She wore a light blue casual dress with silver embroidery on the hem that shimmered with her movements.
A white silk ribbon was tied around her waist, accentuating her slender figure.
Her rose tea-colored long hair was tied high in a ponytail, with a few strands falling by her ears, swaying gently in the breeze with slightly curled ends.
She wore light makeup today—slightly upturned lashes and coral lipstick that made her skin look even fairer.
This outfit made Adelina look less like she was here for dungeon exploration and more like she was here for a dungeon picnic.
“You’re here alone because of a mistake in the student council’s assignment list?”
No, no matter how you put it, unless the person making the assignment list was blind, how could they make the mistake of putting him in a group by himself?
“Probably someone in the student council dislikes me.”
Feilin scratched his head, showing a helpless smile of someone hurt by petty people but magnanimously enduring it.
“That’s really dereliction of duty by the student council.”
Adelina unconsciously twirled her hair around her finger.
“I happen to be coming to the dungeon to hunt magic crystals today too. How about we team up?”
Adelina still had that gentle demeanor, but her voice gave Feilin chills.
“Consider it my apology on behalf of the student council for the treatment you received.”
Feilin instantly understood everything.
Adelina had manipulated the list, hadn’t she?
What did this mean?
Could it be that his pursuit of Violetti had been exposed after all, and she wanted to bring him into the dungeon to silence him?
Feilin noticed the square had long been cleared, without even a witness.
This was bad. He really was going to be killed.
“Would it be okay? If other people saw me with Lady Adelina, would it have any bad effects?”
“Don’t worry about that. No one will see us in the dungeon.” Adelina smiled slightly and clapped her hands.
She’d brought all the elite guards from her family today. Forget magical beasts—there wouldn’t even be people around them.
Feilin’s heart sank, confirming his suspicions.
This woman really wanted to make a move against him.
She probably had people waiting for him in the dungeon. As long as he didn’t enter the dungeon, he’d be safe, right?
Right now it was just Adelina alone—he could at least escape.
“Adelina, I suddenly feel a bit sick to my stomach. How about today…”
Feilin closed his mouth.
He saw people continuously emerging from the Adventurers’ Guild—about a hundred of them.
Each wore the same silver-white uniform with the Claude family crest embroidered on their chests.
They lined up in orderly formation, their weapons gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
Mages, warriors, priests, assassins… elites from every profession were among them.
This lineup was more luxurious than a small military regiment.
Feilin even recognized several famous adventurers in Seyva—he never expected they were all working for the Claude family.
“My father said,” Adelina said softly, “the dungeon is too dangerous, so he told me to bring more people to protect me.”
As she said this, she kept her head down, but Feilin still caught the sly smile at the corner of her mouth.
Was this coming to hunt magic crystals? This was clearly planning to empty out the entire dungeon.
Magical beasts, run! Take your unborn children and run!
“By the way, what were you saying just now?” Adelina asked.
Nothing. Even if he really had stomach pain and soiled himself, he wouldn’t dare say anything
