Chapter 63: First Battle as a God Princess
While both God Children were still pondering whether risking their teams for one kill was worthwhile, two God Princesses had already broken ranks, ‘helping’ their God Children make the decision.
Why think so much? Just fight the bastard!
Young people, especially young God Princesses from prestigious families with their arrogant tempers, were stubborn and wouldn’t necessarily listen to God Children. Even if they usually would, they lost all reason when triggered by seeing potential kills.
The meat’s right at your mouth waiting for you to bite, and you’re chickening out now?
This young master doesn’t care—this young master isn’t backing down!
So both God Princesses charged without a thought.
Obviously, team 13’s God Princess was much faster than team 22’s. The male God Princess shot a provocative glance at the God Princess who couldn’t keep up.
Kills belong to the strong!
But soon, the 13th team’s God Princess slowed down, finding himself bound in place by something, unable to move. At the same time, team 22’s God Princess overtook him.
What the hell?! …It hurts!
The burning pain made the 13th team’s God Princess look down to see a thorny, sinister vine wrapped around his waist.
Undoubtedly, seeing that she couldn’t match his speed, team 22’s God Princess had unsportingly released her divine authority.
“Hehe!” Team 22’s God Princess made a sarcastic face at him and quickly caught up to the fleeing ‘Dilin,’ drawing her chain hammer and swinging it at ‘Dilin’s’ skull.
After a dull thud, the token at ‘Dilin’s’ waist stepped forward, blocking this fatal blow. In response, the token cracked, bursting with intense energy that enveloped ‘Dilin.’ The next second, ‘Dilin’ disappeared, leaving only an ethereal announcement everyone could hear.
‘Team 30 God Child, Dilin, eliminated.’
“Haha, satisfying!” With the kill secured, feeling thoroughly refreshed, team 22’s God Princess strutted proudly, swinging her chain hammer. She seemed to think her decisive, smooth killing spree made her look quite spirited, not knowing that the 13th team’s God Princess behind her, who’d been kill-stolen, was fuming with rage.
“You son of a bitch wild God Princess!” The 13th team’s God Princess cursed colorfully, grabbing his short sword and charging at team 22’s God Princess, completely ignoring his God Child’s warnings to ‘don’t fight, stay calm.’
“He already used divine authority to tie me up, and I can’t fight back? Bah! This young master has never faced such humiliation in his life. Today I’ll send him to see Kadikanto!” (One of the Seven Saints who governs funerals and death)
With that, the fire-eyed 13th team’s God Princess, waving his cleaver, was ready to trade one for one with team 22’s God Princess.
Seeing this, team 22’s God Princess stepped back and quickly released her divine authority [Demonic Vine Transformation] to bind the 13th team’s God Princess and block his attack.
But the 13th team’s God Princess wasn’t helpless either. Consumed by rage, he burst out with his domain and divine authority, air blades cutting through the magic vines binding him.
“Divine Authority, [Blade Cutting]!” The completely enraged 13th team’s God Princess had lost it.
Not only did you steal my kill, you used divine authority to do it. I hadn’t even used mine and you did—you looking for death?
The 13th team’s God Princess armed himself with his domain, unstoppable, continuously swinging air-cutting blades with both hands. This aggressive assault finally scared team 22’s God Princess out of his act, and he quickly called for help from his teammates.
A lightning bolt flashed, striking the charging 13th team’s God Princess and sending him flying, leaving his domain scorched black.
Team 22’s mage stood forward, holding several scrolls.
“Don’t go too far!” Seeing their teammate bullied by superior numbers, team 13 couldn’t stand it and went all-in to support their ally.
Seeing this, team 22 also deployed their full force.
Now both God Children knew this battle was unavoidable. The feud was set, everyone was heated, and these two God Princesses had set the pace. This team fight was happening whether they wanted it or not.
Both sides had to fight to the death here.
Hopefully they wouldn’t get picked off by others.
After a flurry of blade flashes, lightning and fireballs, divine authorities and magic bombardments, the two teams pursuing Tilia fought fiercely, seemingly forgetting their original purpose.
People, once they lose their heads, can’t stay calm. When they can’t stay calm, they don’t know what they’re doing. Once fighting starts, they forget all their usual coordination, following only one principle: chaotic brawling.
The fire was lit.
Watching this scene, Tilia showed no joy, expressionlessly shifting her gaze to the forest.
She knew this only slightly weakened her opponents’ strength. The real troublemaker hadn’t appeared yet.
Team 57 hadn’t arrived yet—actually, they had arrived, but were currently sitting back to watch the tigers fight, planning to clean up after these two teams finished fighting.
Soon, the team battle ended.
This chaotic fight had given the surrounding grassland a ‘haircut’—the grass was much shorter overall, with traces of fireball and lightning bombardments remaining.
Ultimately, team 22 emerged victorious.
But even winning against team 13, team 22 paid a heavy price.
From their four-person team, the ranger-class God Princess died charging, the God Child hiding in back was killed by stray AOE, and the heavy artillery-class God Princess was priority-targeted for being too taunting, leaving only one mage.
Before eliminating the last enemy, the mage had also been slashed by the opposing God Princess. Though not fatal, the already fragile mage’s token had cracked severely from that blow.
After calming down, the mage finally realized with some bewilderment:
Was this fight really worth it?
Just as he shakily got to his feet, he suddenly found his hands bound by pitch-black vine whips.
The mage’s eyes widened as he looked at the three people emerging from the forest.
Erin smiled as she looked at the mage bound by her restraints, raising her thorned whip.
“Wonderful, wonderful! You put on quite a show for us.” Lalo clapped mockingly.
“You, you all…!”
Before the indignant mage could say anything, Erin kicked him to the ground. “Stupid enough, weren’t you? Didn’t even consider if other teams were around before fighting?”
“Die.” Erin released her domain, black bodysuit and connected high heels stepping on the mage’s chest, raising her whip. The whip came down with a fierce wind, and the mage’s token shattered.
“Really effortless.” Erin flexed her wrist, looking at the single remaining red dot on her token and fixing her gaze on the hill’s direction.
“Time to greet our old classmate.”
On the other side, after confirming that besides team 57, no other teams were nearby, Tilia stood up and untied the knots on her long wrapped bundle.
The wind blew away the white cloth, revealing a gleaming white bow as tall as herself.
Tilia jumped down from the small hill, chest straight, walking gracefully toward the three people approaching her.
This was her first battle as Tilia.
One against three.
