Chapter 64 ~ Sacred Wood’s Protection
The updraft lifted her hem as her lace-up shoe heels touched down lightly on the grass with a sound like stepping on cotton. The golden hair swaying with the girl’s movements was like sunlight falling on wheat ears, lustrous and bright.
After landing, Tilisa’s toes touched the ground once, her long, well-proportioned legs standing straight. Her bare legs, exposed except for the lace-up shoes, were snow-white like jade under the brilliant sun. Her pale insteps and pearl-like clean, flawless toenails were completely exposed. Combined with the silken golden hair falling to her knees and her curvaceous figure, she perfectly embodied the beauty goddess’s favor toward high elves.
The linen clothing on her upper body didn’t expose any skin, yet it was completely insufficient to conceal Tilisa’s ‘assets.’ With the girl’s movements, the ‘water bags’ pressed together swayed a few times, filling observers’ eyes with a dazzling expanse of white.
Tilisa gracefully tucked the hair strands falling by her shoulders behind her ears. Her wheat-ear braided hair and swaying hair ends, her light and elegant gait—even the cheap clothes she wore couldn’t obstruct the noble aura emanating from her.
Her emerald and agate-like eyes gazed straight ahead, her gossamer-thin pale golden lashes fluttering a few times.
The small black dots in the distance became increasingly clear. With elven vision, she could already make out those somewhat familiar faces.
They were walking toward her. They knew her location.
“Not hiding anymore, Tilisa?” Soon, the distance between them had closed to where they could clearly hear each other speak. Seeing the girl before her holding her head high like a white swan, Erin taunted mockingly.
“I thought you’d continue cowering in the jungle, trying to extend your survival time as much as possible.”
“But none of that matters anyway. You will leave the Crown Cup arena with a score of zero.”
“Wouldn’t that be a bit much? We’re all classmates—there’s no need to make things so tense.” Laro swept Tilisa from head to toe with greedy eyes, staring at her frost-white skin and the valley that seemed capable of drowning a person. His hidden desires were completely undisguised as he waved his hand, playing the good guy.
“Class President Laro, shouldn’t you pick your timing for when your brain goes to your crotch?” Erin glanced coldly at Laro, who was trying to curry favor.
“Miss Erin, what are you afraid of? Besides, Tilisa is all alone. I think rather than fighting desperately against us to the bitter end, Tilisa will have more sensible ideas.” Laro’s lips curled upward.
“How about this, Tilisa? We can let you go and temporarily refrain from attacking you, but you have to promise to join my team afterward. How about it?”
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Erin turned cold eyes on Laro. “Class President Laro, did you get your wires crossed? Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for this wild goddess?”
“So how about it, Tilisa?” Laro ignored Erin, staring straight at Tilisa.
Though called a team, everyone in the group actually had their own ulterior motives.
In Laro’s view, this was just a temporary team that would disband at any moment. Once the Crown Cup ended, they’d need to regroup anyway, and his relationship with Erin was just for show—afterward, he wouldn’t need to worry about this woman’s moods.
Initially, he’d sucked up to Erin because of her decent looks and good background, but after some interaction, Laro really couldn’t stand this woman’s arrogance and spoiled princess nature, as if everyone on the team had to revolve around her.
By contrast, Tilisa was different. After becoming a goddess, Tilisa was breathtakingly beautiful, leaving Erin in the dust by who knows how many streets. In comparison, Erin had become nothing more than a bad-tempered hag.
Tilisa’s background was indeed less than glorious, but precisely because her background wasn’t glorious, she’d be easier to control.
Wild goddesses like Tilisa who craved recognition were insecure at heart and were the easiest to manipulate. A few sweet words and generous promises might be enough to get her into bed. Later, he could recruit a few more female wild goddesses and a goddess daughter—then the future team would be his personal kingdom, even a crystal palace!
Laro was happily calculating his schemes, unaware that Tilisa’s bowstring rang louder.
While Laro spoke and indulged in his fantasies, Tilisa was silently checking her longbow, test-drawing the bowstring toward the group as if she hadn’t heard Laro speak at all.
“Class President Laro, shut up first. Can’t you see this wild goddess isn’t even listening to you?” Erin said coldly. Watching Tilisa draw an empty bowstring without even an arrow, she laughed mockingly.
“Tilisa, are you still half-asleep? How did you come to the battlefield with just a bow and no arrows?”
Before she finished speaking, brilliant sunlight gathered above Tilisa’s bow eye, and a light arrow trailing golden starlight flew from the string, grazing past Laro’s shoulder and cutting through several strands of his hair.
“You…” Laro’s eyes widened. That arrow had passed less than half an inch from his head, almost scraping his face. He flew into a rage.
Tilisa stood proudly upright, toes lightly touching the ground, one knee slightly bent, gaze slightly raised, her olive-colored eyes calm as ancient wells.
“That arrow was just a declaration of war. Next time I won’t deliberately miss.” She swept her golden hair behind her, her tone flat and indifferent.
“You bitch really don’t know what’s good for you!” Laro cursed angrily, all pretense of noble bearing vanishing.
In his view, for a nameless wild goddess to dare refuse his proposal was itself an act of insubordination.
“Why waste words? Just make her get out of Coleman Academy.” Erin raised her long whip, her tone cold as ice. Looking at Tilisa in her cheap linen clothes, she sneered endlessly. “A goddess without even a goddess domain—so what if she’s transformed?”
“How dare you resist a legitimate goddess! We need to teach you your place!” Laro summoned his domain and divine authority, donning an open-chested martial arts outfit, gripping knuckle guards in his hands as he launched a fierce attack toward Tilisa.
At the same time, Erin’s lackey didn’t remain idle, raising the crossbow in her hands and aiming at Tilisa.
Three goddesses against one goddess.
It seemed an absolute disadvantage.
Tilisa slightly closed her eyes as wind accompanied her soft chanting, gently lifting her brilliant hair.
Goddess Domain: [Sacred Wood’s Protection]
Activated.
Golden patterns outlined the designs of a sun and harp. The sun cast down golden rays, wrapped in natural wind, gathering around the girl, accompanied by that soaring, beautiful chant.
“What?! …” Erin was dumbstruck. “A goddess domain?!”
The chanting gradually faded, and Tilisa’s clothing was completely renewed. A blue butterfly with golden trim adorned her hair, and her braided hair was bound with silver ribbons, two silver streamers hanging down.
Her upper body wore a sleeveless shirt of pure white as the main color, with life’s emerald green as accent, revealing her slender waist and porcelain-tender arms. At her chest was a golden silk-patterned tube top. The elven-style cool design made that expanse of snow-white valley and delicate collarbone clearly visible. Two white feathered coats with golden tips hung behind her, falling together with her smooth, silky golden hair.
A pure white pleated short skirt with golden silk trim swayed with the light breeze.
A pair of blue gossamer gloves only hooked onto her middle fingers, with golden rings worn on the middle fingers pulling the finger sleeves. The other end extended to her elbows, with golden bracelets at her wrists, perfectly outlining the girl’s graceful arms.
Her beautifully curved legs were wrapped in pure white, unblemished, smooth and lustrous white silk over-knee socks. The sock tops were decorated with golden lace trim, and the feet used a toe-loop design. The white silk wrapped half her insteps and the centers of her feet, exposing snow-white toes and heels, with five toes clean as pearls and jade, a golden ring on one toe.
The white toe-loop socks reached to the roots of her thighs. Her jade-like delicate and pale feet were exposed to the air, her beautifully shaped arches slightly curved, her bare soles touching the soft grass.
