Chapter 13
Chapter 13: The Flame Saintess Lost Within
The embrace with Sean gave Cynthia an unprecedented sense of pleasure and satisfaction.
That warm, reassuring feeling seemed to penetrate every cell of her body, immersing her entire being in a wonderful sense of happiness.
She had never imagined that merely embracing Sean could bring such intense mental comfort and magical amplification.
This experience made her begin to think: if she could push further and challenge higher limits, could she also gain more power and satisfaction in this state?
Due to her complex family environment, Cynthia had yearned for power to prove herself since childhood. Her mind was filled with the goal she had always pursued—becoming the Grand Commander of the knight order.
She knew well that relying solely on her current strength was far from enough.
She needed more trials and stronger opponents to break through her limits.
The deepest part of the forest training ground was an area she had never ventured into alone—it was a location for group trials, where the magical beasts were at least one level higher than those in the outer areas.
Even elite knight order squads needed to be led by an A-rank mage to enter.
Although Cynthia, as a saintess, possessed S-rank potential and limits, venturing in alone still carried considerable risk. It was said that a saintess had once perished there.
If I can break through this limit, perhaps I can get closer to the position of Grand Commander.
Cynthia pondered silently. Now, with Sean’s enhancement, she was different from before.
Her gaze fell on Sean beside her, and complex emotions surged in her heart.
Sean’s presence made her feel at ease, even somewhat dependent.
Actually, Cynthia knew in her heart that her current state was somewhat abnormal, but she couldn’t resist that pleasurable feeling of being soothed.
She wanted more—more powerful strength, deeper satisfaction. This desire continuously tempted her to make choices.
“Sean, let’s head deeper into the forest.”
After much hesitation, Cynthia made her decision.
“Yes.”
Sean was slightly stunned, then nodded.
He didn’t know about Cynthia’s inner struggle, but he could sense that her emotions were somewhat abnormal.
The two walked along the forest path toward the depths.
As they ventured deeper, the surrounding air gradually became heavy, and the trees grew taller and denser, as if every leaf concealed unknown dangers.
Cynthia’s nerves gradually tensed, but she felt no fear—rather, she experienced an inexplicable excitement.
She held Sean’s arm with one hand while gripping her sword tightly with the other, ready to face any magical beasts that might appear.
Sure enough, before long, a massive magical beast burst from the bushes, charging straight at them.
Cynthia quickly raised her long sword, and blazing flames erupted from the blade, instantly piercing through the magical beast.
The beast let out a piercing shriek, then collapsed, turning to dust.
“Too weak.”
Cynthia murmured softly, disdain flashing in her eyes.
She felt as if her magical power was endless, and each time she cast magic brought her immense satisfaction, while the emptiness from losing magical power was instantly filled by Sean’s mental power.
“Sean, what do you think of me now?”
She turned to look at Sean, a smile curving her lips.
Sean looked at Cynthia, complex emotions flashing in his eyes.
He could sense that Cynthia’s state was abnormal—her eyes were filled with fervor and desire, as if controlled by some power.
“Lady Cynthia, your power is very strong, and your magic is extremely brilliant. It’s the most beautiful flame I’ve ever seen.”
Sean hesitated for a moment before responding softly.
“Naturally.”
Upon hearing this, Cynthia’s face showed undisguised joy, and she unconsciously held Sean’s arm even tighter.
Sean’s cheeks reddened slightly as he could clearly feel the soft sensation of Cynthia’s chest pressing against his arm.
At the same time, he felt that Cynthia’s body was somewhat hot, and her breathing had become rapid.
Was this a side effect of mental soothing?
As they continued deeper into the forest, the magical beasts they encountered became increasingly powerful, but Cynthia seemed tireless, easily slaying each beast.
Her magic grew increasingly powerful, and she cast it with greater frequency.
After each magical release, she would seek embraces or various intimate contact with Sean, as if only this could fill the emptiness in her heart.
Before they knew it, Sean’s neck had been marked with several “strawberries” by Cynthia.
“Sean, come closer to me.”
Cynthia’s voice carried a tremor, her eyes had become hazy, her face flushed, and her palms were covered in sweat.
Her body pressed tightly against Sean’s, as if wanting to draw more warmth and power from him.
Sean felt Cynthia’s body growing hotter, and her breathing becoming rapid and irregular.
Each time they embraced, Cynthia’s hands would roam dishonestly over Sean’s body, causing his own body to become somewhat restless.
Sean understood in his heart that these were all changes brought about by mental soothing. Both their bodies were in a state similar to being in heat. Since Cynthia was the one consuming magical power, she appeared more fervent. If he let Cynthia continue exploring like this, he might lose control of himself.
After all, Cynthia’s figure and appearance were first-rate. At this moment, she was writhing like a snake in Sean’s embrace, occasionally rubbing against him.
Sean felt he had reached a critical point—one small mistake would lead to irreversible consequences.
“Lady Cynthia, do you need to rest?”
Sean’s heart was filled with concern—he worried that he too might lose his rationality and follow his body’s instincts. So he gently embraced Cynthia and asked softly.
“Rest? No need.”
Cynthia shook her head, fervor flashing in her eyes. She now felt that the magical power within her body was inexhaustible—why would she need rest?
Just as Sean was considering how to pause the mental soothing between him and Cynthia, something unexpected happened.
Several magical beasts simultaneously attacked from all directions. Cynthia reacted quickly, rolling to one side while holding Sean, then immediately stood up to face these beasts.
Her magical power remained strong, her red hair scattered and flickering with flame-like luster, but her movements seemed somewhat chaotic, as if controlled by some emotion, completely lacking her previous composure.
Sean was pushed away by Cynthia and fell to the ground. A magical beast charged toward him, and he instinctively dodged to one side, but still couldn’t avoid it completely. He felt sharp pain in his arm and looked down to see that the beast’s claws had left a deep wound.
Blood flowed down his arm, staining his sleeve red.
In an instant, Cynthia had slain all the magical beasts. When she instinctively sought Sean’s position for mental comfort, she found him clutching his injured arm, his face pale.
Her heart suddenly tightened, as if doused with cold water.
“You’re injured…”
Cynthia’s voice actually carried a rare hint of self-reproach.
She knelt down, carefully examining Sean’s wound, regret flashing in her eyes.
Only now did she realize that her previous state had been too immersed in power, causing her to neglect Sean’s safety.
Cynthia understood clearly that her unprecedented powerful strength came from Sean’s mental soothing. If something happened to Sean, all her efforts would be in vain, and her goal of becoming Grand Commander would become even more distant.
Such incidents must never happen again.
“It’s alright, Lady Cynthia. This is just a minor injury.”
Sean shook his head, forcing a smile.
Cynthia looked at Sean’s wound, her expression becoming complex.
“The trial ends here. Let’s go back.”
