Chapter 18
Chapter 18: Come Here, Help Me Take Off My Stockings
“Oh my, if it isn’t our Crimson Flame Saint? What brings you here so late to find your little male pet?”
Herallis paused slightly when she saw Cynthia, then withdrew her hand, still wearing that meaningful smile.
Cynthia ignored Herallis’s teasing, walking straight to Xien’s side. Her gaze swept over him, and after confirming he wasn’t injured, she looked coldly at Herallis.
“Herallis, Xien is my subordinate, not someone you can casually toy with.”
“Oh? Is that so? But I feel like he means more to you than just a subordinate, doesn’t he?”
Herallis chuckled, crossing her arms, her tone carrying a hint of provocation.
“Cynthia, your complexion has improved quite a bit recently, and you’ve become much more feminine. This isn’t like your usual self.”
“My affairs don’t require your concern. Herallis, if you have nothing else to do, please leave. This is the ninth district, not your territory.”
Cynthia’s brow furrowed slightly, a flash of displeasure in her eyes, and she directly issued an order to leave.
“Alright, alright. Since you’re so protective of him, I won’t disturb you.”
Herallis shrugged, her tone carrying a hint of mockery.
“But Cynthia, you should take care of your health. Men are nice, but don’t overindulge~”
With that, without waiting for Cynthia’s response, Herallis turned and left, her golden hair swaying gently in the night breeze.
Soon, her figure gradually disappeared into the night, leaving only a faint fragrance behind.
Cynthia watched Herallis’s retreating figure, involuntarily clenching her fists. However, she restrained herself from acting out. Only after the other’s figure completely disappeared did she turn to look at Xien.
“Didn’t I tell you not to casually interact with others? Especially people like Herallis.”
This Crimson Flame Saint’s brow remained furrowed, her tone carrying a hint of reproach.
“I’m sorry, Lady Cynthia. I just wanted to make a birthday gift for my sister and didn’t expect to encounter Lady Herallis.”
Xien lowered his head, his voice carrying a hint of apology.
“You could just buy a gift directly.”
Cynthia’s gaze lingered on Xien’s face for a moment, then swept over the forge and the components made from black death ore. A thoughtful light flashed in her eyes, but she didn’t say much.
“Let’s go. It’s getting late. Time to go back.”
Cynthia’s voice remained cold.
“Yes.”
Xien nodded, quickly packing up his tools and components, following behind Cynthia as they left the workshop.
The night breeze blew gently, Cynthia’s red hair fluttering slightly in the wind. Her steps remained steady, but her heart had already stirred up waves.
Herallis’s appearance was like a thorn, deeply embedded in her heart.
Though Herallis hadn’t directly contacted Xien and didn’t yet know about his special constitution, Cynthia was very clear that with Herallis’s keen insight and questionable personality, this Radiant Saint would sooner or later notice Xien’s existence.
After all, the families behind them had been mortal enemies for years, and Herallis would never miss any opportunity to strike at Cynthia.
Thinking of this, Cynthia’s brow furrowed slightly, and she secretly resolved to deepen her relationship with Xien, ensuring he wouldn’t waver due to Herallis’s interference.
Xien’s special constitution was the most important card in her hand, and an indispensable part of her future plans. She couldn’t let Herallis have any chance to steal him away.
When Xien was about to bid farewell and return to his room to rest, Cynthia suddenly reached out and gently grasped his wrist.
Her movement was gentle but carried an undeniable firmness.
Xien was stunned, turning back to look at Cynthia with confusion and nervousness in his eyes.
“Stay with me tonight.”
Cynthia’s voice was low and gentle, giving a command in an unquestionable tone.
Xien’s heartbeat suddenly accelerated, his throat involuntarily swallowing.
Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, and he even panicked, wondering if Cynthia had ulterior motives toward him.
After all, she was the Flame Saint, with a noble status and powerful strength, while he was just an ordinary person dependent on others.
Though they had a contractual relationship, Xien was very clear that he was in an absolutely weak position in this relationship, with no ability to take initiative.
So he didn’t dare refuse, only steeling himself to nod, following Cynthia toward her residence.
Cynthia’s residence was located in a quiet area near the knight order headquarters, an independent villa.
The villa’s exterior was elegant, surrounded by lush gardens, appearing particularly serene.
When Cynthia brought Xien into the villa, Eileen from the house across the street had just finished bathing and came to the window, still holding a cup of hot tea.
She immediately saw Cynthia and Xien, and was instantly stunned.
Eileen was Cynthia’s devoted follower, always viewing Cynthia as the purest and most noble existence in her heart.
In her eyes, Cynthia was the incarnation of flame, symbolizing flawless beauty and power.
However, at this moment, she actually saw Cynthia bringing a man home, which immediately stirred an indescribable anger and jealousy in her heart.
“That man… what right does he have?”
Eileen gritted her teeth and muttered softly, her teacup making creaking sounds in her grip until it finally cracked with a “snap,” tea spilling everywhere.
Her gaze fixed deadly on Xien’s retreating figure, as if she wanted to devour him alive.
In Eileen’s view, Xien was the source of all evil that polluted Cynthia’s holy image.
She couldn’t understand why Cynthia would be so infatuated with such a man. Cynthia used to be such an independent, respectable existence, but now she seemed to be blinded by Xien.
Eileen secretly resolved to take action, drive away Xien, and restore Cynthia to her former self.
Meanwhile, Xien followed Cynthia into her room. The room was decorated simply and elegantly, with a faint fragrance in the air, obviously Cynthia’s usual perfume.
Soon, Xien’s attention was drawn to certain details in the room—Cynthia’s underwear, stockings, and other intimate items were casually placed around various corners of the room, appearing particularly conspicuous.
Xien’s face instantly turned bright red. He felt embarrassed and at a loss, not knowing where to look or what to do with his hands and feet.
Cynthia seemed to notice his embarrassment, the corner of her mouth curving up in a sly smile.
“What’s wrong? Feeling shy?”
Cynthia’s voice carried a hint of teasing. She gracefully walked to a chair and sat down elegantly, her long legs crossed, the black stockings gleaming with a delicate luster under the light.
Xien’s throat swallowed again, his heartbeat accelerating as if it would jump out of his chest.
He tried to keep himself calm, but Cynthia’s aura was too powerful, and he simply couldn’t resist.
Cynthia’s voice carried a commanding tone, her gaze staring directly at Xien as if trying to see through his heart.
“Come here, help me take off my stockings.”
