Chapter 34
Chapter 34: After Confession, No Need for Restraint, Right?
The vast, boundless starry sky spread above Messiah like an unreservedly spilled glass of deep blue cocktail, radiating snow-bright light.
Xien’s figure ghosted through Messiah City’s dark alleys, moonlight shattered by towering spires into fragments scattered across stone paths.
His steps were as light as a feline’s, each footfall precisely avoiding potentially noisy stones and fallen leaves.
Distant patrol footsteps approached. Xien immediately pressed against the wall, his entire form seeming to merge with the shadows.
“Southeast direction, three-man squad.”
Xien mentally counted the footsteps, calculating the optimal moment to move.
In this world full of magic, his body from another world became the perfect disguise—without a trace of magical fluctuation, he was like a drop of water in the ocean. Knights accustomed to magical perception couldn’t detect his presence at all.
Having no magic power had become the best camouflage.
He smiled slightly, a hint of self-mockery in his eyes.
District Ten’s church stood at the city’s edge, its Gothic spire pointing toward the night sky, the cross gleaming coldly, stained glass windows shimmering darkly in the moonlight.
When midnight’s bells struck twelve, Xien stopped before the church.
He looked up at the mechanical clock atop the tower, gear engagement sounds particularly clear in the night’s silence. After taking a deep breath, he pushed open the church’s heavy oak doors.
“Creak—”
The door hinges’ sound was especially harsh in the silent church interior.
The church interior was far more magnificent than its exterior.
The soaring dome bore painted images of the Goddess of Light, seven-colored glass refracting moonlight like gauze veils, enveloping the entire chapel in dreamlike silver radiance.
Pews stood in neat rows, unburned candles on stands releasing faint beeswax fragrance.
Xien’s boots clicked against marble flooring, creating crisp echoes.
His gaze was drawn to the central statue of the Goddess of Light—before the pure white sculpture, a slender figure knelt in devout prostration.
The figure in silk nun’s robes remained motionless, pure white veil falling to her waist, moonlight flowing through rose windows like water over her form, outlining breathtaking curves.
The close-fitting fabric was nearly transparent in the light, revealing glimpses of snow-white skin beneath, her waist and hips rising and falling slightly with prayer like a living religious painting.
Though she faced away from Xien, he knew it had to be Heralys.
“Lady Heralys, I’ve come.”
Xien’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he steeled himself and walked forward.
No response. Heralys remained motionless, as if completely unaware of his arrival.
Only when he drew near did Xien hear her soft prayer—
“…Please forgive my sins, Goddess of Light…”
Heralys’s voice carried a slight tremor.
“I should be your most pure servant, yet today… I wallowed in private desire because of another’s corruption…”
Xien’s steps suddenly stopped, the next words leaving him completely stunned.
“I saw Cynthia with her man… they were entwined in darkness… and I…”
Her fingertips gripped the holy symbol at her chest tightly.
“I actually defiled my own body in the shadows…”
Xien stared wide-eyed, hardly believing Heralys’s explicit confession—so her so-called “secret” referred to witnessing his intimate scene with Cynthia that afternoon, and afterward she had actually…
His mind went completely blank.
This saintess had not only seen him and Cynthia in Mary’s basement… she had even been outside… pleasuring herself?!
If Heralys had witnessed everything, his special constitution’s ability might already be exposed.
Xien turned to flee. He shouldn’t have come here tonight, much less heard about Heralys’s self-gratification.
The Radiant Saintess Heralys had actually hidden in the shadows watching others’ intimate moments while secretly pleasuring herself—this was absolutely a secret that couldn’t be known.
BOOM!
Just then, he heard a loud “bang” from ahead and looked up.
The church doors slammed shut without wind, heavy door bars automatically falling.
Dense magical runes appeared on the thick doors, completely sealing inside from outside.
Powerless against this magic array, Xien could only stand rigidly in place.
Click, click, click.
The rustle of fabric came from behind, followed by high heels striking the floor, each step like walking on his nerves.
“Gulp.”
Xien swallowed, forced to turn around, his back pressed against the cold door.
In the moonlight, Heralys slowly approached, her nun’s veil already removed, golden hair cascading like a waterfall, swaying gently at her waist.
Her eyes no longer held their usual holy silver radiance, but gleamed with dangerous dark purple.
The nun’s robe’s high slit swayed with her steps, revealing glimpses of thigh skin.
“H-Lady Heralys… what are you planning?”
Xien was backed against the wall with nowhere to retreat, stammering as he looked at the Radiant Saintess who seemed completely different from daytime.
Heralys extended a slender finger, fingertip glowing with faint holy light.
Xien instinctively dodged Heralys’s hand, quickly stepping aside and trying to maintain composure by invoking his backer.
“You can’t do this! I belong to Lady Cynthia. If she knew you had designs on me, she’d definitely be angry!”
“Heh…”
Heralys chuckled softly, turning to walk toward Xien without haste.
“I’m stealing exactly what belongs to her.”
“Wait, wait! Weren’t you just confessing to the goddess? Since you know it’s sinful, shouldn’t you restrain yourself more?”
Seeing that mentioning Cynthia not only had no effect but backfired, Xien tried using the Goddess of Light to remind this Radiant Saintess.
“So you heard everything.”
Heralys had reached Xien, wearing an ambiguous smile as she placed her hand against the wall beside his ear.
Rose and frankincense fragrance hit him, mixed with some secret sweetness.
“Yes, yes! What happened to you this afternoon absolutely doesn’t represent impurity—it was force majeure, I can understand, and I can keep it secret too!”
Xien nodded like a pecking chicken, raising his hand as if to swear before the Goddess of Light.
“But precisely because I’ve confessed…”
Hearing Xien’s words, Heralys suddenly tilted her head, golden hair sliding from her shoulder.
“So now… there’s no need for restraint, right?”
Xien’s pupils contracted sharply.
“That feeling was unprecedentedly comfortable, as if opening a new world. So I want to find a man to try it with, and thinking about it, isn’t the best candidate right here?”
Heralys licked her lips.
“Handsome face, good build, and more importantly, this would disgust that woman Cynthia. I never expected a simple letter would lure you out. Little one, you’re too naive~”
“Lady Heralys, please don’t do this…”
Xien watched Heralys’s hand draw closer and closer, his expression growing more panicked.
“This feeling of doing things behind Cynthia’s back is quite thrilling, isn’t it?”
Heralys’s hand gently lifted Xien’s chin, her confident smile freezing in that instant.
“What… what is this feeling…”
